I don't know if the standing 8 count rule was in effect. There was no controversey. He took the fight to Kov and finished him.

 

Bob Bennett is gonna toss her protest in the trash can and that's how it's done in Nevada.
Duva is a **** promoter and when she agreed to all the terms for the first fight she signed the death wish for herself and Kov.

I honestly believe that Kovalev was hamming it up a bit after getting hit in the pills in order to maybe score a timeout from the referee. I don't think he imagined the ref would TKO him off a foul.

Golovkin is going to flatten Canelo. I think he realises it can't go to the cards.

I don't blame Duva at all for doing this since Kovalev is the only guy in her diminutive stable making her any money at all. Her cashcow (if you can even call him that,) is closing in on retirement soon.

Main Events isn't probably going to be around for much longer, so she needs to exhaust every option to keep Kovalev significant in the public eye. She's a really nasty lady and I'm glad she's about to go through this downward spiral.

There won't be any change on the decision though. Kovalev lost and him and his team need to learn to exhibit a little class and humility after losing. Well I shouldn't bunch John David Jackson with them since he gave an honest and refreshing take post fight, and that's the guy's trainer for god sakes.

He was done but the end sucked.....Ward could have won by a clear TKO but ref screwed up badly IMO

 

Didn't have any money on this fight, don't even bet.
Ward did appear to come on stronger and take the fight. That I have no problem with.
A ludicrous stoppage during an eagerly anticipated bout between Two top 5 p4p fighters, yes I do.

 

Why aren't you mad at kovalev for quitting, turning his back, gassing out and bending below the waist? Kovalev threw more punches but didn't compensate by doing more road work to improve his stamina.

 

The result won't get changed. It SHOULD, but it won't. Who even oversees these appeals? Isn't it the Nevada State Athletic Commission, the most corrupt of the bunch?

 

The punch was on the belt the only reason it landed so low is because kovalev was bent over touching his toes. He was done and had the fight been allowed to continue he would have been brutally knocked out. He had nothing left in the tank.
