Provodnikov-Algieri averages slightly over 1 million viewers

    The Provodnikov-Algieri averaged 1,040,000 viewers on HBO Saturday. Its the third most watched fight of the year and the most for HBO BAD this year.

    That's because people love Provodnikov. Watch for the numbers on Algieri's defense of his title. If he is not fighting Provo, the numbers will be dismal.

    All jokes aside. i went to the fight, and he had a pretty damn good following in NY for such an unknown. It was pro algieri by a mile.

    Provodnikov would never have done anywhere close to a million before his star-turn break with Bradley. (which is what Algieri had, in turn, here with Provodnikov)

    Nonsense. Algieri has nowhere near the appeal of Provodnikov, and never will. Algieri fought in his own market. How do you think the fight would have been scored if they had been fighting in Moscow? Algieri, even though he has a huge market to draw from, will never have the appeal of a Provodnikov.
