Not exactly. Rios says that he has a lot of amateur fights, BUT he admits that he never uses it. Case in point, Alvarado-Rios 2. Rios was not fully able to cut of the ring or use his jab like he should have. Despite the differences in amateur, it was clear that Alvarado was the more successful "boxer" in the ring. Rios shows SOME flashes of decent boxing, like a jab, but he simply uses very infrequently to ever be a factor in his fights.

Yes Matthysee can take a few steps back, but he can't win like this. His style is to come forward and break his opponents down. When 2 sluggers meet, one has to eventually start to back pedal...and in this case its almost certainly gonna be Matthysee.

Ultimately I'm saying this fight is gonna be like a snowball effect. Both will come out pressing, but eventually Matthysee concedes ground and starts to go back. And more, more he gives up the idea of pressuring Ruslan. Eventually he just resorts to boxing, but without the leg speed or experience of Bradley or Algieri...he is gonna be in the ropes a lot. Which will lead to exchanges he doesn't want. Which leads to taking more and more punishment. Which leads to even less punching power and output by him. Which eventually lead to his collapes in the later rounds.

I tend to agree with the thread starter. Good thread.

    Wait until Lucas hits him

I'm going with Lucas all day, he got a little over hyped on here a couple of years back but he's always been a quality fighter.
