Ruslan provodnikov by brutal career ending ko. I hope the old man retires n enjoys the fruits of his labor. Hate to see him in same position he left PAC in. Unless PAC puts him there. I wouldn't mind so much then haha. Seriously tho. Ruslan could very seriously damage jmm's brain. Whoever compared Provo to katsidis and Juan Diaz is a moron. This guy provodnikov is a whole other animal. His only weakness is his papery skin n lack of defense. Although to be fair his d isn't as bad as it's made out to be. N his hand speed n footwork are underrated as well. His power and ability to cut off the ring are unparalleled in boxing. Very similar to ggg. But even better if u ask me. He's never off balance and works angles well to. He stays in punching position. His stamina and chin are tried and true. People say a boxer beats him but again...I've never seen anyone cut a ring off like this guy. They say Tim fought him wrong. Lol. I don't think he gave Tim much of a choice. Tim fought that way intentionally for about 30 seconds of round one. The rest was ruslan.

Where are all the CPA's claiming high risk/low reward for Marquez? Ruslan don't generate enough $$$, EXCUSE?

Provodnikov would knock Marquez out and end his career. Marquez is afraid to fight Pac again since his win was sheer luck, plus a little help from the world's top steroid expert?

Damn I wouldn't want to see this, I'm not even sure Marquez wouldn't beat Provo but I wouldn't wish him on my own worst enemy. Marquez would age about 17 years that night.

Opinions like this in this forum go to show you most here have limited knowleadge about styles and the sport of boxing.
When a well past it Erik Morales fought Marcos Maidana, I was one of the very few here who voiced that even a well past it Morales would not be a pushover for Maidana. Even voiced that with Maidana's limited boxing skill, a skill guy like Morales could even pull the upset and he damn almost well did.

Ruslan is limited and Marquez always gets himself in the best of shape which spells doom for a limited fighter like Ruslan.

Believe me people, Marquez is not going to square up to Ruslan, he'd diffuse his power by giving him angles and countering the crap out of him
It would'nt take 6 rounds to have Ruslan in gunshy mode.
Some of you people seriously need to learn to differentiate between a limited power punching fighter and someone with serious ring skill and aptitude.
Marquez vs Provodnikov would be a repeat of Hopkins schooling of Pavlik.
Pavlik's power diffused by skill, he looked like a real sick weakling in there.

Marquez' career high is 6m, right? He was previously offered 13m for Pac, then raised to 15. If he's not fighting Pac, he'll take 1/3 that.

Juan Diaz and Katsidis were also limited, gave younger Marquez trouble just with their size and physicality, and they were much smaller, lighter punching, less durable. Juan Diaz got hurt by Paulie, who was shocked and took a second to process it.

Diaz is a great infighter. People have to understand that styles make fights, Marquez knowing Diaz does'nt have concussive power can afford to war with him on the inside.
Kats was being taken apart by Marquez, when it get to easy in there, thats when you get careless.

Great fighters fight to the situation. Marquez is going to feel Ruslan's strenghth and punching power early and he's going to fight accordingly, thats what great fighters do.

People need to realize that when Marquez was matching up with Kats and Diaz, he was auditioning to land the Pacquiao fight. If Marquez would have gone in there with either one of them and pulled a Hopkins and safely boxed his way to a 12 round shutout, he'd have never landed that 3rd Pacquiao fight.
The fact that Marquez fought both Diaz and Kats with aggresiveness is exactly the reason why coach Roach said, "Marquez is ready to be taken by Manny!"

Marquez now is'nt auditioning for anyone, he'd simply show up and take Ruslan to school whether it be safely and tactfully, or by KO if the opportunity would to present itself.

Great fighters know who they're up against and fight accordingly.
    Helllllllooooooooo!

Alright, hope we see it. Prov would murder Kats or Diaz or anyone else JMM has beat, midget Pac excluded of course. Not that Prov is that great, but JMM has never beaten a decent natural JWW or welter, much less a stout, hard punching one.

weve already seen the bradley fight, thats not gonna change in the rematch.

jmm will be more offensive in the rematch but he will be risking gassing early too.

and what if bradley insist with vada this time?

he wont fight pac. he already said no amount of money will make him fight pac. i think in his mind, the pac ko is his security blanket. whatever happens after that, is legacy is secured. sort of like floyd's zero.

so he has a choice between rios and provo. he already dismissed the rios fight once, so he is left with the provo fight, which appears to be more dangerous than a rios fight.

jmm has ran out of options actually.

arum will corner him if he insist on bradley, citing their dismal ppv performance.

he will be offered money he is fool to take just to fight bradley. half of his money will go to bradley.

but jmm will do a chris john and take the fight or retire if bradley insist vada.

I dont agree. The Diaz that Marquez knocked out was full of energy and desire to win. You need to watch Juan Diaz fights pre-Marquez.
Watch the Freitas fight. Diaz is good at getting inside your power zone and just smothering and nullifying it. He did just that and bombarded heavy hitting Acelino Freitas on the inside.
Diaz imo would win a wide UD vs Ruslan.

sometimes it is pointless to discuss matchups that no chance of happening.

it is good to discuss a possible matchup like marquez-provo bec the chance of it happening is very real. there is this excitement of are you going to be right or awfully wrong.

provo is a dangerous fight for jmm at this point in his career.

I don't know who you're referring to as "turd" but you sure as hell have a lot coming out of your ass and mouth in this thread.

How the hell do you expect Marquez, especially with his recent loss, to get 50/50 against Pacquiao?. Was Marquez EVER a draw in his career?, this is a guy who fought the likes of Diaz(the first fight), Casamayor and Katsidis on regular HBO. It's only after this KO win that gave him a serious opportunity to actually make money for a change. Marquez can't sell **** on his own to deserve 50/50 against Pacquiao. Even if he doesn't accept this fight, don't expect him to sell anything worth mentioning against whoever else.

A rematch with Bradley won't sell jack. Regarding making more money against Bradley than he did Mayweather, well no **** dumbass, he's coming off a KO win over none other than Pacquiao, did you expect him to make less?

With that said, you must be seriously ******ed to consider Pacquiao "screwing" Marquez all the times he has given him chances at major fights against him. If you forgot, it was Pacquiao who decided to give Marquez the shot when everyone else(Hamed, Morales and Barrera) didn't care to back then. He did the same three more times which is why Marquez scored the biggest win of his career. As far as payment was concerned, he would have turned them down if he was being "screwed". One win doesn't give you the rights to get 50/50, business doesn't work like that but surely I wouldn't expect a fruitcake like you to understand it. Marquez made it clear that he doesn't want to fight Pacquiao again, which is why he's demanding 50/50 knowing that his demand is too ridiculous to be accepted anyway.

Diaz already got exposed a bit and lost confidence off Campbell. Fell apart soon as he got cut, same as vs Marquez.

Go ahead and create a poll, Prov vs that Diaz. It'd be 10-1 for Prov or wider. Cause Diaz is a bulldog, but much smaller, lighter punching, less durable, less mentally strong
