Pryor Vs. Cervantes. Did Cerv bite off more than he could chew at 140? A title bout?

It seemed to me once Cervantes knocked down Pryor in the first we were gonna have ourselves a fight, But instead classic Pryor kicked in and he just beats him down and smothers him before Knockin him out in brutal fashion!!!!!...Pryorjust never stopped punching and trying to just run over this guy, who keep in mind was no *****!.He was Champion

Cervantes was way past his prime. Prime for prime he may very well have beaten Pryor as he was one of the better counterpunchers the division has ever seen. A sharp, fast and hard puncher. Check out his fights (vs. DeJesus, etc.).

No way Pryor runs over a prime Kid Pambele.

I'm not certain actually. Cervantes had his off nights. Furuyama was all over him. And Tetsuo 'Lion' Furuyama was NOT 'The Hawk'.

I'd favour Kid Pambele though. But yes he was way past his best, he may not have been the 'champ' either, his opposition after his loss to Benitez essentially made him a paper champ' IMO.

He was a bit past his very best there IMO. Check out the Furuyama fight to see how, even in his prime, he wasn't infallible.

You make a valid point. But there were nights where just about every ATG looked less than unbeatable. Greb, Robinson, Louis, Ali.....

Best vs best? Cervantes vs Pryor is a HELLUVA fight. A struggle for both men :good
