Pryor vs Mayweather. Who you got?

Then let's address the Jose Luis Castillo fight? This was a Lightweight bullying Floyd Mayweather Jr, and you say Aaron Pryor didn't have the physical tools to impose his will? I'll have to disagree with you on that one Axl Rose, it's often exaggerated, but even Ricky was having success early doors. Pryor is a nightmare for Floyd because he has great technique in addition to his toughness and stamina. He'll be there for the full 12 rounds.

His chin and workrate will enable him to swarm all over Floyd, and Pryor can also box nice too.

Its a bad style matchup for The Hawk and I think Pryor is one of those fighters who gets a little overrated (not that much) because he had the type of "what if" career that people can get a bit carried away with.

 

Mayweather UD.

Pryor would give Floyd hell until Floyd figures him out after a few rounds.

Pryor only ever fought 2 great fighters in a overated career.

One was a past his prime Cervantes and the other was Arguello who was never a proper 140 lb fighter.

if you have see pryor fight its not even close ,if leonard can say too good for not enough money , then mayweather wouldnt want any of that , one of the best jabs i have ever seen.

 

I dont think picking Pryor requires one of these atsch but I pick Floyd by decision myself.

Its a really tough fight to choose, Floyd would score on the all to open Pryor but he would be forced to fight at a pace which he has never fought at vs anyone before & it may make or break him, I say he handles it in a tough, close fight.

 

I hate to do it Gaz, but I gotta disagree.

Whilst Pryor was floored a few times and didn't beat a range of 'great' opponents; his wins over Cervantes and Arguello surpass any of Floyds best wins IMO, especially when you see the attributes that Arguello carried with him from 130-135-140 (I like him at 126 but feel he hit his peak at super-feather) and I think Pryor gets (justifiably) ranked fairly low because of that.

But in terms of H2H at ten stone, I say he's nigh on unbeatable. The man was a sheer force, and Floyd has fought no one good approaching Pryors level of intensity, and nor would he keep him away with his (lack of) workrate.

I just feel Floyds attributes get massively overrated (not by you); it's like people have never seen a ring general before.

Maybe I'm seeing things when I watch say, Kid Gavilan, but Floyd is nothign special, and has not proven his impenetrable defence at the VERY top level.

 

Duran has the best shot, Id pick him everytime, I think Floyd & Pea would always be a close thing & Id pick Chavez over Floyd.... not Pryor tho but I do think that would be close too.

I would pick Floyd over everyone else, after he beats Mosely, the sceptics will understand a little more of what I see in him that they `choose` to be blind to.

Leonard would tear Pryor apart piece by piece, lets not go there, no way on God`s earth Pryor could beat Leonard, no fkn way..... SRL would outbox & stop Pryor late on about rd 13 or 14 after a one sided ass slappin.... & Im not even joking. Mismatch.

 

Both Duran and Pea are vastly superior fighters to Floyd. Why can't people see that???!?!?

Surely they have eyes? A fighter such as Kid Gavilan is infinitely more impressive but hardly talked about.

 

I'd guess (well I hope) we've all seen Pryor fight. The Leonard thing is BS, Pryor never even fought at welterweight in his prime and hadn't even finished with Argulleo by the time Leonard had retired.
