Psychologically weak elite fighters from the 1920s - 1950s?

    He was a fouling, poorly conditioned mess. I’m not sure if he was elite though.

    In the sense that he was Ring ranked, I'd have to say that he was elite by the standards of this thread.

    Was going to say Phil Scott when I started reading this thread. Great pick. Didnt he give us Brits the horizontal heavy reputation back then? Lol.
    And Jack Sharkey another good un. Temperamental at the best of times.

    Floyd s an hard one to figure out.
    I believe he'd be the first to say his head could be a mess. But he showed true guts on a few occasions.

    Sharkey was the one who came first to mind for me as well, at least by reputation. Then again, some occasions where he dropped the ball (complaining to the ref about a low blow) were understandable.

    Probably his biggest fights involved low blows!
