I think it was probably said sarcastically, more of a joke of sorts. I used to watch PTI alot a couple years ago and they both would talk excitedly about upcoming matches.

Just watched the clip on ESPN. He definately meant it tongue in cheek in reaction to Wilbon saying 'it was a pretty good fight the first time" Which we all know it was one of the most boring 'big' fights of the last 5 yrs.

They both are huge fight fans, Stop being so dam sensitive folks !! We all know that without the internet boxing in fact would be a dying sport. Boxing is the ONLY worldwide sport in which everyone can get together, root for or against whomever they choose and immediately talk smack about it on worldwide message boards.

I watch that crap all the time. I heard what he said. He says alot of stupid stuff. If they are fight fans, their show doesn't reflect that opinion. They only talk about the fights THEY want to talk about. Like garbage involving PBF. Trying to remember if they gave Pavlik any "dap" for his destruction of Taylor. I don't think so. Not a topic Wilbon wanted to dwell on. They are biased as holy hell.

BTW, cracks me up that we're talking about PTI here. Never thought that would happen.

LOL....you seem to want them to talk about the fights YOU want to talk about. They talk about fights that hit the mainstream sports media. Mayweather is that man right now. If Taylor had of beaten Pavlik, it woudln't have gotten dap, or vice versa. Neither registers to the mainstream media. That doesn't make them biased at all.

And I think your insinuation on Wilbon is bull****.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I like Mike Wilbon alot or I wouldn't watch the show. But you can't tell me that he hasn't made comments in the past that showed some bias. Nothing wrong with that. Its understandable.

Bias against certain boxers? No more so than the next guy. They hardly mention boxing anyways.

The whole point of the show is to show bias, they are entertainers but at their core they are fight fans.

Your right, they don't talk enough boxing. The bias shown can be on any topic they bring up where race is an issue, is what I was reffering to.

In which case, Wilbon has clearly shown that he takes each issue individually. Just because he sometimes say there is a racial issue prevalent in a situation doesn't make him biased. He has also gone against many people when they say race is an issue on a particular situation, saying that it demeans actual racial issues when it is used so flipantly. He has also chastized blacks when they have made racial insinuations against whites through the years. He is pretty fair in that regard.

I dont have as much problem with the boxing id dead comment, probably most of U.S mainstream feels the same way.

But what really upset me about todays episode was that they gave the happy birthday segment to Maury Povich instead of Ali.

This could very well be Ali's last birthday alive and they give the segment to someone who absolutely has nothign to do with sports....ESPN is slowly becoming like MTV.
