I think Rivera is kind of a WYSIWYG dude, just a no-frills tough come-forward guy whose goal is to grind you down and outlast your gas tank. Interesting that he is turning southpaw here in R4, though. Plot thickens..

 

Eh, nah, Méndez kicked his ass more or less just as bad when it was lefty versus lefty.

 

That would have been a bad ass "Inigo Montoya vs. Dead Pirate Roberts" moment though if all of a sudden Rivera had Méndez's number after switching.

 

Rivera knows he's well behind, gunning for a KO now - but might get himself countered into the mat again if he keeps up this recklessness..

 

Rivera switch-hitting again in the 5th. Back and forth, only able to graze Méndez with long rear-handed torpedoes on the body while in pursuit...but Méndez is landing the cleanest stuff darting in & out between clinches. Vastly superior footwork & positional awareness from Méndez, the clear-cut ring general.

Snazzy power combos from Méndez in the sixth...might put the kibosh on Rivera if he would stand in & sustain those instead of skipping away every time he gets some momentum going. In baseball terms, it would be the rough equivalent of the power-hitting top of a batting order loading the bases and the cleanup spots leaving them stranded with three k's looking.

You can hear the crowd's frustration with Bimbito. Like, they keep on cheering for him, but with a little edge in their voice, like "c'mon dude...what gives? This is seeming like more of a 'won't' than 'can't' situation.."

 

Whoa...that slow motion replay angle makes it look a pretty flagrant low blow from Rivera...disqualification-worthy tbh...

 

Rivera lost a point, right? My feed got laggy for a few seconds..
