Yeah, current local time in Trujillo Alto is the same as for me in Boston, coming up on quarter to 1am...

Yeah, this is ****ing stupid whatever has happened lol that’s two pretty good fights at this level that we’ve missed this week already (I’m still salty about Ashkeyev-McCalla) and we still have a PBC card tomorrow

While we wait, I rewound and took a good hard listen to when they read the result.

    Official cards:

    Gerardo Martinez 98-90 Méndez
    Cesar Ramos 97-91 Rivera o_O
    Jose Roberto Torres 100-88

    ...decisión dividida para Méndez

    Here is his rap sheet...

    http://boxrec.com/en/judge/402316

Nearly a thousand fights judged, including many internationally (a bunch of title fights in the UK, randomly) - and while he seems to mostly be in sync with the other two judges's scorecards on each night he also seems to mostly work mismatches where it would be hard to see it any other way (ie 6-rounders with all three submitting a 60-53 or 60-52 card...)

Plus, he just seems to have a thing against Bimbito. Every time he judges a fight of Méndez's, he gives the opponent a couple of rounds...even when the other judges have it a shutout. :nusenuse:

So weird. There were at least a handful of rounds that were clearly won by Mendez. Even if he thought the fight was closer, it seems madness to give Mendez only one of those frames.

Yeah and only the mandatory round at that, without the knockdown and deduction Ramos may well have scored a shutout for Rivera for all we know.

So I'm beginning to feel like Torres vs. Laguna was scrapped last-minute for some reason...

Here's a "complete" results list, referring to Bimbito vs. Pototo as the main and Carlos Arrieta vs. Ernesto Franzolini as the co-main:

I also saw a cryptic tweet from somebody that was sitting ringisde that roughly translates into "the promoter said Torres will return again on June 28th at the same venue"... :nusenuse:

I'd refuse to fight if I were Mendez and fighting anyone dangerous and this clown was judging. What a corrupt POS.
