I just watched the first 7 rounds again, and sadly, with all the controversy over the DQ, most people are over looking one simple fact. Andre Dirrell whipped Abraham's ass! AA often gives away the first few rounds while he studies his opponent. In this fight we saw a different story. AA did not look like he was "giving away" rounds, or studying anything. As early as the 2nd round it was pretty clear that AA was in shock. He had no answer to Dirrell's jab, or that sizzling straight left lead. Dirrell rocked his world multiple times, and AA had no freaking clue what to do about it. I've been saying for years that an opponent needs to be smart enough to slide over a lttle bit and throw right hands against AA. Andre did that beautifully multilple times throughout the fight. I've also said, FOR YEARS, that when fighting AA, do not give this mother****er room to breathe, or time to think. Dirrell did a magnificent job of staying busy enough to keep AA from setting anything up. I've also said that during the early rounds, when AA is standing around like he is waiting for a God Damned bus, an opponent should jump on his ass, hit him hard, and try to rattle him. Dirrell handed AA his first knock down as a pro in the 4th, and by the end of the 5th, Abraham was already starting to look like a beaten fighter. Great performance by Dirrell. With, or without, the DQ controversey, Andre Dirrell took Arthur Abraham out behind the proverbial wood shed, and spanked his ass!
THIS POST =OWNING HERMIT..WOW ...:rofl:rofl:rofl SO MUCH FOR THAT BULL**** STATEMENT HE PUT..NICE REBUTTAL MAN...OWNED HIM hi:
the point of the post questioning aa's power was a jab at people who claim dirrell was in full acting mode. he can't be the most devastating puncher in the smw division (which i believe he is) and catch dirrell flush when he aint looking and when aa is hitting down on someone for the first time in his career and not hurt him. what he was saying is which one is it. so in reality, all those gifs support the theory that dirrell was really hurt, not that he was acting. i think paloalto posted in the pbf/pav thread...go let him know again that he's been OWNED!!! page after page of ya'll OWNING eachother. come off it for god's sake
Thats one of the great things about these types of tourney, they give inexperienced guys a shot at more experienced fighers and who knows what can happen, in normal circumstances there is no way kessler goes to oakland to defend his title, it just wouldnt happen and i doubt if abraham pays michigan a visit either
Dirrell proved he was a fighter... I was expecting the same Dirrell we saw against Froch, but this Dirrell was dominant and fun to watch... Better punching and a stronger fighter in there...
The truth. I also noticed how Dirrell's power really did bother Abraham. He shook Arthur up with a lot of good clean punching and counters. The RD11 controversy robbed us of a conclusion to a pretty entertaining scrap imo. Arthur did have a chance to pull out a last minute KO, but he was well behind on the cards to the superior boxer. Dirrell showed a lot of poise in there even after he made a mistake. He also proved to have a solid chin in that fight. The guy has a lot of potential if he could just learn to settle down a bit. Btw, you manned up here booradley. That takes balls. Props to you man. :good
We can ask the same about Arthur Abraham. At least Boo has the class to man up. We are still waiting for Arthur to do the same. :deal
If I may be allowed to take a moment, and jump back over to my ongoing anti-abraham agenda, I noticed that Dirrell completely neutralized Arthur's elbows. I did not see AA land one single elbow on Dirrell's chin. The right cross/right elbow is Arthur Abraham's best combination, and Dirrell took it completely away from the cheating *******:bananamaniac
Big props Booradley. :good And you're right Dirrell was whooping Abraham a$$. Before the dq, Dirrell put on an awesome performance. He did mostly everything in that fight. Before like in the 10th round, Dirrell barely did any clinching in which shock me but it shows he has great slick skills defense that he don't need to clinch alot.
Dirrell is very slick. He is so slick that I think his handlers need to get him to move around LESS. He needs to learn to stay in the pocket more, slip, bob and weave, block, and fire hard counters. He has the speed and the reflexes to be VERY good at that. If he had done it against AA, I think he would have stopped him.
