The promoters weren't going to emphasize the bad leg story. It would only detract from the fight. I think Benevidez's days as a professional prize fighter are behind him
I hate excuses. Full blame should fall on Benavidez for conning the public. You pretty much know if you can go hard on the leg in sparring and if he couldn't then he was just in it for the money and the automatic excuse for losing and I can't respect that at all. He wasn't throwing punches even when Crawford was in front of him and didn't have to move. **** espn, the show was all non commercials and they charge a monthly fee now for that ****, not that I payed. With all this said, Crawford needs to stay away from possibly compromised fighters, it's not a good look.
It's not an excuse its a statement. An excuse would be if people said or believed he had a chance of winning. The fact of the matter is he was always going to lose that's why he was selected. And that's why Crawford was licking his lips when the fight was finally announced and struggled to contain his joy in the ring when he could see Benavidez was struggling to drag his dummy shot leg around the ring.
I think that's too far risky for him. Even though his profile matches the type of opponent he's accustomed to. Jacobs healed up too well from Bone cancer His team will look for someone who's just returned from having either 1) Triple bypass heart surgery and stomach removed. 2) Three kidney and lung replacements, 3) Suffered a stroke sufferer with paralysis on one side of the body Then when Crawfords leaves one of these victims sprawled out across the canvas, his fanboys will say there was nothing wrong with them and all of those ''injuries' were behind them.
