OK i have not posted in a while and maybe there is a thread already discussing this topic but i still believe Margarito is given too much credit for his win over Cotto...... Personally, i had a very strong feeling cotto would lose bc i knew that Marg would pose huge problems...but we have to remember that right before his fight with Cintron, margarito lost a lopsided decision to Paul williams and luckily won against Josh Clottey.... I THINK MARG is a bad motherfocker and repsect him enough, but i just think cotto's stock went up way too high after his shane fight. Now some people are talkling about Marg being the man to beat in the WW division.
Lopsided decision? Two judges had it by one round and the other had it by two rounds. That's thin, not lobpsided. Luckily won against Clottey? He took Clottey's will to win, he took Clottey's heart, and Clottey is supposed to be some tough customer. Margarito made Clottey clam up and tell stories about an injured hand. Clottey was making excuses, he was crying. Of course there was going to be alot of hype. There was alot of hype on Cotto that got transferred.
Marg was given nearly no credit before he fought Cotto, then he gets a lot of credit for beating Cotto
