That was a great performance by JuanMa. I'd like to see how he would handle the pressure of guys like Izzy and Rafa though. I think he would fare quite well. He's got excellent boxing skills.

Also Ponce had the reach advantage over the taller Juanma.

Ponce thought he could pull off another Bautista but JuanMa had too much skill. I would not see he is weak chinned just off of this since that was a vicious/flush shot he was not expecting.

For how many Mexicans are on this earth you'd think there would be more. I think its amazing how an Island of 4mil can crank out that many quality boxers....If only Cuba could represent themselves the way Rican's do in professional boxing. They'd be just as competitive!

Most mexicans favor Football (soccer) and lucha libre ( believe it or not). In Mexico boxing is tied at 3rd place with baseball. Margo was a baseball player befor he got to boxing same as Alfredo Angulos. They both grew up in the Baja peninsula of mexico where baseball the main sport.

I agree, but that goes against jecxbox's belief or insinuation that ricans are somehow superior because they crank out more fighters per capita.
