You are correct Zopi, Ramos is a Cubano that later came to Mexico and became a citizen, just like "Mantequilla" Napoles. :good

    What rivalry?

They just have 2 good fighters. Pac and Donaire otherwise we beat on philipinos on a day to day basis.

PR-Mexico is a good one because they have so many good fighters along with Mexico having plenty of good fighters.

But what rivalry though. Its only one fighter. Well 2 like i said.

I would think you need more than 2 good fighters to have a rivalry.

Everytime I see a Philipino aganist Mexican I feel the rivarly. After pacman hit big alot of philipino fighters started going to the US. I think give it some time it'll get bigger. But regardless nothing NOTHING like PR/Mex. That rivarly will last forever.

Pretty soon that's about to change, as Cuba is slowly getting it's way back into the mix !!!

    Cuba's top boxers right now...

    Yuriorkis Gamboa - WBA-IBF Champion
Guillermo Rigondeaux - Interim WBA Champion
Erislandy Lara - soon fighting for the WBA Title
Odlanier Solis - fighting Vitaly for the WBC

There will be many awesome future confrontations with these top Cuban fighters, ( and there are much more Cubans coming up fast in the rankings with great potential as well ), and it doesn't matter if is against Puerto Rico, Mexico, Philipines, Russia, USA or England. That rivarly is about to change ... :good

I don't doubt it but there are a lot's of catching up to do. I don't know what's the biggest pro fight a cuban has been involved in. I'm guessing one of Casamayors, who had two big fights against Mexicans (Marquez and Castillo), one against a Brazilian (Frietas) and five fights against Mexican Americans (Guerrero, Garcia, & Corrales 3x).

But if Gamboa does end up fighting Juanma, this could be the start of a big rivalry.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

Just a side note: I consider Corrales Mexican American because He would come into some of his fights with both the American and Mexican flag.

    Exactly...

What happened to Flash Elorde when he faced the best PR fighters? None of these pac fans know who elorde is anyway. At least not before 3 years ago.

It will be fun to see, we know that at least. Especially Lara and Gamboa.
