The thing is that PR fight a Mexican cab driver, and they call it a championship fight. I think the only ones that should be considered are the ones when it was a real championship by, not a PR having a tune up against one of the million YJ Cab Drivers.

In real Championship fights, I'm sure MX is ahead.

So you would actually boast about JuanMa beating these guys? Classy move :good. I'll give you JuanMa vs Ponce, but beating Izzy and Rafa now is equivalent to PacMan fighting Barrera and Morales after they had beat the **** out of each other. Both were never the same no matter what anyone says.

Bottom line is, Sanchez vs Gomez was the biggest fight between the two countries and guess what? Mexico won. Quality vs quantity is something I'll take any day of the week. :deal Viva Mexicooooooooo!!!!

Excuses I have read on ESB or elsewhere; "Gomez banged some hot PR chick the night before the big fight," "Gomez was snorting coca the night before," "Gomez underestimated Sanchez and didn't train," and other BS. Sanchez' victory over Gomez was great but i don't deny the fact that gomez' best days were at 122.

No, negative. I am NOT claiming that Izzy and Rafa are shot. I do, however, wish to state for the record that they certainly aren't the same fighters they were three fights ago. They are definitely on the downside of their careers or would you disagree with that? Izzy has been in some wars not counting the triology with Rafa. Rafa is an old 32/33 for that weight class. Father time+ring wear and tear= Something every boxer faces sooner or later.

Anyhow, if those fights were to be made, I would give credit to JuanMa if he were to win, but it would be hard watching the old lions take a beating from a younger lion. Just my two cents.

It's all good!! To be honest, JuanMa looks like he is the real deal. He certainly has the charisma and power to give Tito a run for his money as PR's best fighter in the last 5-10 years. That's not a diss to Cotto because he is a very good fighter in his own right, but it seems he is a very reserved person and that doesn't fit well with too many people.

 

Yup. I think in the end JuanMa will be held in higher regard than Cotto. JuanMa reminds me of a young Tito.
