In my household we had some who wanted WLAD to win and some like me who wanted AJ to win so it was a tense environment. I’m just glad AJ won so people like u didn’t rip into AJ calling him a hype job

I've made no hiding of the fact GGG is my boy. But he probably doesn't have much time at the top now. I think he handles Canelo again but depending on how much time there is between fights then I see Andrade as a really difficult fight for him in the future.

Once he is done though, it'll probably be Loma for me. And without a ridiculous size advantage I don't honestly fear him being in with anyone.

    IBF,IBO,WBA
    World Heavyweight Champion
    Anthony Joshua
    19(19)-0-0

I think at this moment, Deontay Wilder poses the biggest threat simply because of that 1 Punch knockout power. If all goes well and Joshuas defence is on point, it should be a easy nights work for Josh but i fear all it takes is one big punch from Wilder like the Klitschko shot, i dont think Wilder would let AJ have a 2/3 Round recovery.

This isnt me saying i think Wilder is on AJs level because i think hes not even close, but the man does possess fearsome knockout power which is all it takes at Heavyweight. Im 70/30 when it comes to confidence on AJ beating every heavyweight in the Top 10 at this moment in time.

I'm doubly angry that AJ won now, because it means I have to pretend to like him and hype the hell out of him like he's an unbeatable beast and root for him to become an ATG, because losing to a glass jawed hypejob in his final match by KO, wouldn't be good for Wlad's legacy at all.

See, like I said, this thread is a Confession booth.:D

Actually I don't mind him that much, I think he's flawed, has a weak chin, is flat footed, is a tad bit one dimensional and over reliant on his power, and when his skills fail him, he always has that to rely on to bail him out just in case. I thought he didn't deserve his Gold Medal and that it was gifted to him, and the hype he's received since turning pro, nauseated me, because his first 12 or so opponents, were literally tin cans. But I have nothing against him personally, he seems like a good guy, and after the Wlad win, he did earn my respect somewhat. But overall, I'm not too thrilled with the HW division, it doesn't really float my boat. When I started watching boxing it was the era or Tyson, Holyfield, Bowe, Golota, Foreman (still), Morrison, Lewis, and no Heavies have really measured up with the exception of Wlad for me since. To be brutally honest, I didn't love Vitali all that much either.

I'm also thrilled Sergio Martinez never got in the ring with Golovkin, especially after the Murray match, as sad as the loss to Cotto was, at least Sergio didn't have to endure are horrific beating and be KO'd cold. Although I will stick to my guns on one thing, a pre-Chavez Maravilla would have given GGG fits.

i dont get why people dislike Anthony Joshua i dont understand it. The guy is an absolute role model outside of the ring. Hes always looking to improve. If theres anyone that could be brash and cocky and arrogant its him, but he really is the complete opposite. Hes always looking to motivate the next generation, hes always been humble and hes always shown respect to the fighters before him that paved the way.

He doesnt go around saying he would beat Lewis Tyson and the rest etc. The line he said recently shows you what hes about. He was asked "Do you want to be a legend" to which he replied, " No, no way, to be a legend, sometimes you have to disconnect from reality, i dont want to do that i want to be with the people. I dont want to be a boxer thats so detached with the public that people think yeah hes good but i dont think ill ever achieve that, i want people to feel like yeah i can achieve it because hes a local kid, hes a normal boy, if i pop into finchley and bump into him i know i can get 10 minutes of his time for some advice"

Im not sitting here trying to sell Anthony Joshua to the people that dont like him, some of you may think hes a hype job and not a great boxer and that is totally fine, boxing is a opinion based sport, but this guy really is just your average kid from the streets whos found love in boxing. As far as i know, hes never boasted about how much money he has how many cars he has none of that, he really is a down to earth guy.

Now, obviously i dont know this guy personally and for all i know this persona he puts on is all Eddie Hearn triggered just so he gets the people of the UK on his side

    Excellent thread.

Parker: AJ and Wilder scare me, esp. the former
Usyk: if he moves up to HW then AJ & Wilder again
Gvozdyk: Beterbiev would be the match-up I'd fear the most, I'd be very nervous vs Stevenson or Kovalev too
GGG: he's old now and could easily lose to the other top MWs, however the way people here will write him off as a hype-job because he lost to another elite fighter at 36 will be most annoying.

I like / root for a lot of other fighters but if I'm honest with myself these four are the ones I care about most.

rigo the most feared man in boxing almost had to sign contractually with a heavy weight to get a fight, until loma accepted but rigo still had to move up two weight classes.

What you said was all correct and excellently written.

Most people who dislike Joshua either do so because they are a fan of one of the other top HWs (e.g. Wilder) or because they think he is overhyped.

It's quite similar to the Golovkin situation, Golovkin is also a good guy, exciting fighter, etc., but he gets hate because some people think he's overhyped or are a fan of one of the other top MWs.
