if he wants to save his career.
I've been following his development from the amateurs and is a pity to see him reduced like that. Saureland/Otto Ramin have absolutely no vision and plan for the development of an athlete. (underlined on purpose) They've turned a promising professional into a basic one/two fighter.
And no, his loss tonight isn't the reason for this conclusion, it is actually a confirmation to what I've been seeing in his last 10 fights. A constant regression that had its culmination tonight.

Pulev needs a trainer from the USA. We have to admit it. European training methods and regimes are light years away from what you have in the States. In the USA you're not simply thought how to be basic/average. You're not just a fighter, but an athlete. They know how to take the maximum from you and push you to your limits.
At least these are my impressions, tell me if I'm wrong.

He needs to get Roger or Floyd Sr.

His defense is what he needs to work on. His power is very limited.

If he ever wants to be successful as an out fighter, he needs to get either one.

I can see Floyd Sr doing wonders for him.

    Interesting.

But could he afford a service like that? Floyd Sr. is the top of the top...

With the payday he got from this fight, he could probably afford it.

He needs to not only get a new trainer but also a new promotional company.

    Sauerland is fking him over.

Either get his ass to Top Rank or be a part of Team Haymon. He isn't going to get anywhere being in Team Sauerland where they can't even afford to pay sanctioning fees for 2 of the belts.:rofl:patsch

You usually need to go to America for the best trainers, don't understand why they don't look at ggg and kovalev.

    This is true.

    Don't forget Wlad. :deal

Once Wlad got with Steward, his game became so multidimensional.

    It's so impressive to see.

Bull****. Pulev has no punching power at all. And as we seen today his skin cuts very easy.. Pulev gave it all he had and I respect him for that. But Pulev just does not have the skin or power to be a champion. Wlad also lacks the chin and skin to be great. But lucky for Wlad there is no good boxers right now. WLad just fight stiffs like Pulev and claims he is great.

KTFO !!! Its not a weak div issue its that Wladimir Klitschko is so good !!!
And Pulev power is pretty ok. You will see it in his next fights.
Pulev need to work on defense. New trainer + promotional company.

I read Pulev's contract with Sauerland is expiring at the end of the year so he will get rid of this amateurish management. He should fire his trainer as well and start from square zero.

I think even a guy like Adam Booth could do wonders for him. He has to work on his defense, head movement. You can't be a stationary target against an elite HW. I am not sure if Pulev could afford a top US trainer like Roach or Floyd Sr.

Pulev was use to fighting big slow lumps like Ustinov, and old grand dads like Thompson. When he to got into the ring against Wlad, his over relaxed defence was his own doing. Unless your quick and agile like Haye, you don't want to be relying purely on reflexes. Not when your Pulev's size. A good compact high guard would have minimized the risks.

Agreed his defensive style relies on him either being faster or much better from range than his opponents. Having such an open guard while being so square on is always going to see you get hit if your opponent has the speed or reach to get to you.

Wlad very early on saw the flaw in Pulev and threw short compact left hooks inside of Pulev's incredibly wide guard. Meaning Pulev had no defence against this punch when in range.

He needs to tighten that guard up but it's probably too late in the game to make such drastic changes.

I have been saying this all alone. Unfortunately, no one would listen. Pulev is surrounded by people who tell him what he wants to hear. He started believing in the hype.

And I am afraid that he is a person who fells for it. He will not change. I see him after the fight and he says the same things. Absolutely in his own world. No touch to reality.

It is good to a big patriot but you have to respect others as well.

Its too late for pulev, not enough tools to beat the elite but hes still a good man to have in the division.

Compare this to Wlad after the Sanders fight. He gave respect to the winner, was demoralized, knew he got the **** kicked out of his and had to rebuild. That's what a champion does. He realizes his mistakes, dusts himself off and tries again.

As you said Pulev seems to live in his own world. You have to understand your own shortcomings if you want to improve. How can Pulev improve if he doesn't admit to mistakes?
