Pulev certainly did much better than Whyte vs Chisora. Was never in any real trouble and controlled him.

Pulev is clearly better than Whyte who I think was over rated after his small amount of success against Joshua. But that doesn't mean he has a snowballs chance in hell against AJ.

Styles makes fights and Whyte for all his flaws has a decent punch and is a fair counter puncher, Pulev has neither of these things. He doesn't have a punchers chance as he lacks a big punch and he's your typical immobile jab and grabber, he'll need more than his jab to beat AJ.

I think Pulev could beat Whyte though. He'll beat him to the punch with the jab and right hand and then clinch to stop Whyte countering.

I think Pulev would beat Whyte too, but wouldnt be remotely surprised if Whyte won.

To even use the word robbery about that fight is beyond being ridculous, I had Chisora by a round but it was possibly the closest fight of the year and difficult to mark, so the fight going to either man was definitely possible before the cards were announced!!

Pulev got away with too much holding. Put him in a British ring with somebody like Foster in charge of the action and it may have turned out differently. He may have lost points or got DQ'd.

Haye thinks Wlad will get DQ'd against AJ for too much holding.

But that was a much better Chisora anyway. He had his long time trainer Don Charles back in his corner who quit after the Fury rematch i think. Not as good as he was against Vitali and Helenuis but close. That version beats Whtye delusively

What's the story with Pulev's IBF status? I figured he was a straight out mandatory that's why he had that tune up with Peter, or does he need to fight an eliminator?

The Chisora from last night was vastly better than the Chisora from the Pulev fight, we saw throwback Chisora who was motivated and aggressive. Derek weighed in over 19 stone for Pulev fight but came in at 17"11 for Whyte which shows how seriously he was taking it.

Pulev is not very good, both fighters from last night if they perform with that intensity beat him.

He's mandatory for it and Hearn offered him 3 career high paydays to fight AJ and he's flat out said no, he doesn't want the fight or to fight for the IBF title preferring to fight the Sam Peters of this world instead.

The ref in the Pulev fight was horrible and totally corrupt, every time Chisora got inside he pulled them apart. Pulev looked awful. If that was Pulev in there with a motivated Chisora allowed to work on the inside (the only place he is really effective) last night he would have been steamrolled.

Pulev is clearly better than Whyte, despite the SD Chisora who was in better shape for that fight didn't win more than 4 rounds in that fight, and that's even being generous to him. But he doesn't have much of a chance against Joshua.

Agreed, if Pulev was in the ring with Chisora last night he would have got annihilated.

No Chisora was in better shape for the Pulev fight. The problem with that fight was Pulev was a clear level above Chisora.

Pulev would be a good fight for Joshua to take before Klitschko to see what he can do against someone who will come to jab with him.

In some way I think it would be better if both Joshua and Klitschko take some fight before they face each other just to see where they're at just like Ward and Kovalev had those tune up fights.

The problem with that fight was Chisora had 2 opponents in the ring...

I was thinking the exact same thing, would be excellent prep for Wlad. Pulev uses similar tactics to Wlad, dominate behind the jab, get off first and clinch when your opponent comes inside. But Pulev of course lacks Wlad's power, is slower, has worse movement but based of their fight now has the better jab, now that Wlad has declined. Would be a great way to see how Joshua deals with the jab and grab style and if he can find a way to deal with a spoiler.

Wlad might do better with a tune up, but at his age he's only going to get worse with time so maybe sooner the better in regards to Wlad's chances.
