Pulev is reported to have cut ties with Sauerland promotion leading up to the IBF eliminator with Hughie Fury. Pulev is now a free agent, he is promoting the Sofia card himself with two "local businessmen". Hugie Fury makes €1 million and is paid by Pulev's promotional outfit. Pulev still gets Sauerland's Uli Wegner in his corner for the fight.

Pulev and his business partners hope to make back their investment by cashing in on a mandatory fight vs. AJ if he wins this Saturday.

So, Huggie is getting a million, and Pulev shares the fight's profit with 2 investors... makes sense for him.

Damn that's a good pay day for Hughie. So the idea is they make their money back vs Joshua but that's only true if he beats Hughie. Huge risk financially when you consider the arena has a capacity of only 12K and tickets start at 20 lev which is £9 and most expensive is 300 lev or £135 and it's currently still has tickets available, so isn't sold out. The live gate alone might not cover Hughie's purse.

Looks even more like a KO will be necessary to win for Hughie.

The writing was on the wall for Sauerlands when they were outbid on the purse for their own fighter by the mysterious Bulgarian group.

They were willing to blow Hearn and Kalle's bids out of the water for bouts against Whyte, Miller or Breazeale that on paper would be tough for Pulev. That level of confidence like you say may mean that they've covered all their bases.

Don't forget the money from the sold tv rights (to the UK and US for instance), it won't be a financial loss, but maybe Pulev will only get a small purse.
I think this fight would be close and dull whereever it's held, and the one with home advantage (Pulev in this case) wins if it goes to the cards.
So yes, Huggie probably needs a KO, but I can't see that happening.

So Fat baby Miller turned down a million dollar payday and a chance to fight Joshua smh. Well done to Hughie for taking a challenge for once, good to see him paid well for it, I’m picking him to edge out Pulev.

True, they'll hopefully make a bit for the TV rights. Hughie's last fight did really well on channel 5 and so I assume they paid reasonably well for this fight. They might break even or make a small profit if Pulev isn't being paid much.

Time will tell if or how badly the cards are stacked in Sofia. Given his other options Miller may have calculated that staying unbeaten may have been in his interests, he probably see's another route to AJ.

Miller would beat Pulev, Dillian wouldn’t have beaten him too. Stylistically because Hughie isn’t a punch nor a swarmer he will struggle more coz Pulev loves space but I think the faster feet and longer reach will be the difference. Pulev is there for the taking I haven’t rated him and he has fought utter bums since he lost to Wlad. Only decent win is Chisora and Chisora was shocking that night.

Both Miller and Whyte eat Pulev alive. Fury vs Pulev is a battle of feather fists. But if Fury KOs Pulev and he and his loan sharks lose out big, Expect H.Fury to pee positive.

I thought they'd beat him, so I wonder why they didn't fancy it and why were Pulev's new backers willing to risk so much money?
