That is, if Platov does not pull another disappearing act.

Platov is a dangerous puncher, but Pulev just has the look and feel of a champ. A very good amatuer (wins over Solis and Timuriev), about 6'4 with polished boxing ability that belies that fact that he has only had 8 fights, and he is already taking on tough nuts like Gbenba Olukun, Zack Page, Matt Skelton, and now Platov. He is also showing some power lately.

In the eighties, back when Holmes was scraping the barrel, Greg Page, Jerry Cooney and Michael Doeks came along to make it interesting. I think we have a similar trio in Pulev, Helenius, and Boytsov.

    May the better man win.

It's been scheduled like... 4 times already? Hope it happens now. Pulev should take this, he's one to watch out for.

Pulev is definitely someone to watch out for in the HW, Boytsov adn helenius also. To bad they aren't getting any US broadcast.

:good This guy looks like a great HW prospect from the little I've seen.

+ I think you can tell alot about a prospect by the quality of opposition his team is willing to test him against... and Pulev is being moved real fast considering he only has 8 fights.

I'm looking forward to Kubrat pulling out a win, he looks to be the goods and taking on serious competition early in his career. Hope he doesn't do a 'Povetkin' later.

from what Ive seen of Platov, hes nothing special. got a strong punch, but Im sure Pulev will easily outwork him and TKO him late

Very interesting fight. I havent seen any Pulev full fight. I would say that Platov has a KO chance to win, otherwise Pulev should outwork him to a clear decision. Platov is a good puncher, but he is slow. Every good HW boxer with decent chin should outpoint him, just keep Platov outside.

Pulev's opposition has been immense for so little fights.
