Takam was scheduled to fight on Nov 4th so it's not like he was training for nothing

Yeah maybe, it seemed a little quick to me, there would be all sorts of things to agree and it seemed pretty much done on the spot.

I'm happy with it anyway, I think it's a tougher fight for AJ.

    A) Fight with an injury for £5 million?

    B) Never get the fight?

He's chose the wrong option, injury or no injury.

He could've taken a dive and ended his career with more money than he will now ever make.

Yeah, I agree. Impressive bit of business from Hearn. Must of just had a feeling and hedged his bets.

I dont honestly think anything sinister went on but it is interesting that Hearn felt the need to get Takam on the Monico bill and to stay on stand by as back up 6 weeks ago...

was it even announced he was on the Monaco bill and who was he fighting?

He had Takam on standby knowing Pulev could lose his bottle as the fight drew closer.

This isn't something new by the way, Hearn always likes to have a plan B.

In the past, he's often talked about backup fighters in case of a pull out, even on domestic level cards.

Even I would have wanted to go there with a broken shoulder for 5 million. If Malik Scott can take a dive so can I!

Based on the fact when he reported it was to report that he had an injury but was still going to fight - its genuine

Kalle told Hearn, and from there Hearn decided the fight needed to be cancelled and he already had Takam on standby

Hearn had Takam as a hot standby. He was fighting in Monaco but prioritising being available for AJ. He stated that Takam was preparing for AJ.

Yes I think its safe to say Hearn had more than an incling that a high ranking standby was required. I would say that is because Pulev has injury problems and not because he was chicken. Who would turn down 5 million for one fight, when they couldnt make that for the rest of their career?

Must be pretty serious. I'd get in the ring vs Godzilla to collect $5m plus.

I am sure Pulev wants to fight. He earns more money and gets a chance at the title.
