To be fair, Parker was gifted a World Title after PED Fury was robbed of his belts and he goes down with Charles Martin as arguably the two worst World Heavyweight Champions ever in the worst era ever seen.

Bell time for this is around 2115hrs looking at the TV schedules which means it’ll be finished before the Matchroom card main event.

    Yep.

If you ever want to kill someone’s love for boxing

Just make them sit through a typical Hughie Fury fight.

Bizarre decision by channel 5 to show this, although no one else probably wanted it. So when the viewing figures are dire hopefully it doesn’t stop them showing more boxing.

They were really pleased with the ratings for Fury Sexton and he finished with a lovely KO that will help them market this one.

I hope it's a big success, fantastic to see live boxing on a free to air terrestrial channel.

I agree with you about it being a stinker but can see fury nicking it.
But I honestly don’t want to see The winner in with AJ, I think this is going to make the wilder/fury winner a lot harder to make with AJ, AJ will go on to be champion for a few years only fighting mandatory challeneger/easy defences same a WK

Last time Hughie Fury fought he produced one of channel 5s biggest ever tv audiences as 2.7 million people watched it. I am not surprised channel 5 wanted him back on.

As a spectacle this might be terrible however this is the type of fight Channel 5 want- a meaningful eliminator for a heavyweight title that is 50/50. Clearly it wouldn’t be on terrestrial TV if it was taking place in this country due to production costs.

To be fair to Mick he does usually deliver solid cards and I’d prefer to see them on Channel 5 than on yet another subscription service.

:roto2lol:Can't ever complain about free to air boxing in today's ppv age

Unless it's one of David Hayes cards

To me Mick Hennessey is the best talent spotter and match maker in the UK, would be a great asset to Frank or Eddie in such a role. The problem is he is terrible at promoting fighters and bills.

So if Hughie wins you don’t want to see him in with AJ?

I’d love to see Hughie in with AJ. I don’t care about the fight not being a spectacle for the more casual fans of the sport. Without a shadow of a doubt it would be the most awkward fight of AJ’s career. Hughie can frustrate and make anyone look bad.

I know anyone who can look straight at the camera with straight face and tell people Michael Page will go all the way sums up the quality of what he is putting on the tv. Instead he could have went out and signed the likes of the Walsh brothers and put them on with Joyce in good fight cards.
