There's genuine risk taking, and calculated gambles.

That to me is a very well calculated gamble. Even if he lost, so long as he wasn't beaten up badly for six or eight rounds it would benefit him more than fighting ten bums and blowing them all away in a round.

He beat Timurziev in an amatuer match, too, though, as well as Solis. AS far as I know, though, he never could get over on Camarelle.

 

I seen him at the Europeans were he lost to Camarelle, I also seen him at various multi nations, Like I say he's great going forward but push him back and he don't wanna know,

Camarelle is something else, I sparred with him in Italy after winning my first ABA title, He was a class act, It's so frustrating that he ain't gone pro!:fire! Pricey is right up there with them all he really is, I believe when Maloney see's the best of him he'll let him off the leash!! All I'll say is watch out to Britians heavyweights!!:shock::good:shock:

 

Pulev is in a different class to any British heavy weight prospect apart from Price.

 

Anyone else read boxing news about Fury only having 6 rounds sparring last year?

A think Pulev was confused by Matt in the first round, but after the first half of the 2nd round he become more organized and in the 3rd he dominated. He used body jabs very often, and win the same way as in his first profi figth, against Florian Benke. Good fight but I hope he will be more varied and aggresive in the next.

 

Gutted for Matt. He would murder Pulev if he were half fit.

 

Yet, it is a very impressive win. Skelton had his good fights in 2008 against Chagaev and Vidoz. Rogie probably took something away. However, in his very next fight Skelton had some good moments against Pianeta before retiring in the 8. Paineta's face was bruised.

It was Pulev's 5 th. fight. Skelton edged the first round but it was razor tin. Pulev was in complete control after the first round.

As far as Camarelle is concerned, I do not think he is better than Vidoz. He does not want to turn pro for a reason. Pulev lost to other guys in amateurs too... But now he is a pro and he is not babysitted which cannot be said for many other prospects.

I hate to be the one to suggest something suspicious...but the end that fight just doesn't seem quite right.

 

It did look a soft punch to go down for, especially for a guy as seasoned and tough as Skelton but he looked unfit and out of shape so probably winded him.

Why is he fighting in poor shape...why not get himself fit and maybe go for a Rogan rematch.

Pulev looked alrite but nothing special...

Seeems like he was overconfident, wasn't quite ready to go. Otherwise a good performance.

 

Did he take a dive or what? :huh A jab to the ****ing chest ****ed him up that badly? That was a pathetic ending, reminded me of Mitchell/Estrada.

Either that or more likely Skelton did no training for this fight. It looked to me a lot like he went out there and blew his load in the first few rounds trying to get the KO because he knew he hadn't done the gymwork. The ref talks to him in rd 4 and you can hear he's blowing out his arse. This is a guy that was known for his fitness and toughness in his better years.

Skelton has no heart for prizefighting anymore, that is for certain. He's not motivated anymore, he knows hes come as far as he can. Just hope he retires rather than becoming the next guy they trot out onto all the German cards for upcoming prospects.
