Watched Solis last night and although out of shape, he looked good. Super fast hands, great skills and real power. He is being lined up to face Pulev later this year unless Pulev faces Wlad. Solis beat Pulev 6 times out of 6 in the amateurs. I have seen nothing in the pros to suggest the result would be any different :good
Solis looked good only because Saglam was more interested in showboating than fighting based on their current form, Pulev outboxes Solis
Interesting about the amateur bouts. Before reading that Id have definitely gone for Pulev. Now Im not so sure.Longer distance though.Would have loved to see Haye get revenge, but it won't happen.
Solis already beat him 6 times. Pulev is overrated and got to the IBF number one some how without beating any top 10 fighters. Solis would win by brutal KO and cuts.
Pulev was an IBF top 5, and his first opponent in the tournament, Ustinov was an IBF top 10. Pulev won and elevated himself into the top spot. Adamek and Solis were to take part in the tournament, but Adamek was not up for giving Solis a FAIR split of the purse, and Solis, not needing a tournament for a title shot, rightly declined. However, Solis has had several 3 solid quality fights in the past 18 months, whereas Pulev has just the one vs Ustinov. At this stage, I'd say due to activity, Solis would have to be the favorite, esp considering his edge in the AMS.:thumbsup
Ustinov was not a true top 10 fighter. You can't go by the IBF rankings because there corrupt. Ustinov is a total piece of ****.
Ustinov beat all the right guys to get his ranking. Yeah, theres not a single legit top 50 on his resume, with the exception of maybe Barrett, but when you beaten 10 quality Clevel and a solid Blevel fighter, your gonna get and DESERVE a world ranking by the ABCs. Ustinov was undefeated, a monster in the ring, and taken the appropriate fights and won them to acheive his ranking. If you dont understand how rankings are gained by now, Im afraid it may be too late for you:yep
Pulevs chin is solid. Not iron, but solid. Thompson was able to dent and crack Price, he aint doing that to Pulev. Pulev also has about the best footwork of the current crop of contenders. He WONT be pressed to the ropes, and he will jab jab and drop Thompson with his LOOPING R hand. Pulev KO 8 Thompson.:think
Trying to track down results. It was Camarelle that Pulev lost to all 6 times, my mistake. Nevertheless, Solis had his number and beat him every time except once which was supposedly a highly contentious decision. Solis' wins over Pulev were pretty comprehensive though including a 25-11 win over Pulev in the semi final of the World Championships. It's pretty obvious to anyone with eyes Solis has the better skillset and boxing abilities. The am results also confirm that. Pulev doesn't have the power to be able to stop Solis, so I would expect a wide points win once once again or even a stoppage for the chubby Cuban :good
