Wardley set to challenge Pulev for WBA title

Sick of this belt being referred to as the WBA title, which should be reserved for the "super" belt, the actual flagship WBA belt. Misleading the casuals.

I think Wardley will send Pulev flying out of the ring.

Surely if Pulev loses he retires?

What is retirement these days anyway. He apparently sells out big venues in Bulgaria no problems. He would probably do more of those in Bulgaria to make more money, getting his head punched in for a few more Ferraris and all of that.

Wardley should obliterate this version of Pulev. I hope they don’t bother with Ipswich FC for this - do it on a big show preferably in London at Wembley Arena or something.

    I would like to see a show like this;

    Pulev v Wardley
    Denzil Bentley v C Agyarko
    Sam Noakes Euro Def
Brad Pauls v Khati (Guy that beat Heaney)
Sam Gilley v Louis Greene 2

Good fight for Wardley. I understand Hunter is on deck for the winner, so those should be two good developmental fights.

Been to Bulgaria many times, Pulev is a bit of a hero there. He could continue to fight bin men and draw a crowd for years yet.

Whilst I'd be surprised if Wardley doesn't beat Pulev, and i hope he does, aren't we getting a little ahead of ourselves here. He has beaten British level, and I mean domestic British level fighters up till now. He went life and death with Clarke the first time, beat the ghost of the shadow of a child's drawing of big Nate, his best win is likely over Adelaye as the Clarke blowout was just that, one of those once every now and again monster finishes and isn't really indicative of his ability or his form. For me, the kid has a brilliant opportunity to come through with Ituama, culminating in an all British stadium fight. He should be fighting Whyte, Chisora, Joyce, become the broom that sweeps house and get his name out there, and that's the route I hope he goes because for me, Usyk, Dubois are levels above him.

Pulev is 43.5 years of age and has barely beaten anybody decent in his whole career. He looked dreadful against Joshua all those years go, totally past it. He looked even more shite in a rematch with Chisora after he bored everybody to tears beating him the first time round. He looked like a grandpa against Manuel Char. Wardley will go right through him. He's also 30 year old so I am not sure why you are calling him "kid". It's also not as easy as you think to make these matches. Joyce just rejected Okolie and that's a fact so what makes you think he'd accept Wardley. Chisora wants a bigger money fight, at least he gets what is basically a secondary belt against Char. Whyte would cost a fortune and would he take it.

Can't you 'kid' anyone off, when they're younger than you?! Assuming he is.

All valid points man, and i was not looking for an argument, merely suggesting, a little like people did with Bakole, there is a lot of hype based on little substance around Wardely. Just like Martin, I wish him well and hope he reaches his full potential, and yes, he should go through Pulev; i did say that in my post, but I do hope he isn't another cautionary tale based on hype and speculation. Oh, I'm nearer 60 than 50 by the way, kid is only a figure of speech, and a habit i use when I'm writing, perhaps a lazy one at that.

KubRAT was shot to pieces years ago when AJ teed off on him and stuck his tongue out like the flat track bully he is.

Pulev is done, Wardley should be far too fresh and explosive albeit on paper this is a big step up.

Should be a nice name to beef out the resume

If this fight ends up in Bulgaria, you all still as confident in Wardley?

I don't see anybody hyping Wardley up. He doesn't need to be hyped up or any good to beat a shot to pieces old man who was never great on his best day.
