Pulev gave an interview for journalists waiting for him on Sofia Airport tonight. He said if the fight vs Wlad is going to be some time in April or May next year, he'd prefer if he gets another fight probably by the end of the year before the Klitchko fight, because he thinks it's a long time to be inactive and he wasn't happy with his last 11 months being inactive and waiting for an opponent. I am not very familiar with IBF and their rules... so can you tell me if they'd allow such a fight without him losing his mandatory spot? Has this ever happened before? And if it is possible... Who do you think would be a good fight for him in preparation for Klitchko?
Did he dropped the EBU title yet? If not, he may end-up fighting Chisora. If the title is dropped, most likely no-one will agree to fight him and it has to be some B level warm up fight.
They would allow the fight but if Pulev loses it he likely loses his shot against Wlad. That's why they will give him a feather-fisted tomato can just so he can stay active.
Volodymyr says he wants to fight in Dec so if the Povetkin fight isn't too tough maybe it will be then if not the Pulev fight would probably be Feb or March next year so i don't think he'll have to take a stay busy fight.
No chance Pulev takes that unless he has to, Solis had his number in the ams. And to be honest, although technically both excellent, they both still fight like amateurs.
I don't think that he dropped it yet, but I'm sure he will. Assuming Wladimir beats Povetkin, both Pulev and Wlad will probably have one tune up fight before fighting each other. I expect both boxers to select some less known opponents, as that would be reasonable. I'd be highly surprised if they picked to fight someone at the level of Solis.
The fans want him to face Undefeated American Star Wilder 29-0 (KO 29), if he don't think he can beat Wilder... he is better off taking on Wlad
Yeah, no chance in hell Pulev risks his mandate and 750K+ against Solis. A better fight for Pulev would be a rematch vs Dimitrenko. Or a fight vs Larsen. Someone with similar dimensions as Wlad but without the risk of being beaten.:think
Pulev vs winner of Haye/Fury would make the perfect sense to challenge a Klitschko but probably wouldnt happen this year maybe Feburary then a summer showdown with one of the Klits would be good
Stupid from Pulev to risk anything before most important day of his life. Hard to imagine him willingly going through two camps back to back. Not that he couldn't; Vitali did that in Arreola-Johnson, but no.. too unprofessional somehow. I'd guess he's fawking Povetkin's head by seemingly looking past him.
stars headline shows hes the only guy in history with a record like that who is an undercard fighter or off tv bout
He needs another fight prior to fighting Wlad, but he will not risk his title shot, so it will be a mid-level fighter.
