It is easy to look great against stiffs, it is quite another to be taking on guys who are winning and beating other would be contenders. Pulev has shown he at least deserves a shot at Wlad. Wilder needs to show that he can beat the other wannabes before he can become a contender.

Why does he "deserve" respect  Because he's beaten stiffs and a few names that are way past it :huh

There are fighters w/much better records than DWs that are regularly dissed by esb trolls. You must be new to sports boards :blood

Pulev is indeed much more experienced, and that would be a factor.

But out-jab Wilder? I doubt it.

First, Pulev would have a huge reach disadvantage.

Second, Wilder's jab is becoming a very serious weapon, not just a range-finder. For Pulev to utilize his excellent jab, he has to fight from mid-range. That isn't going to happen against Wilder. Pulev would either have to potshot from way outside, or smother Wilder & go to the body.

Pulev has a great control of range. He steps in and out of it. Wilder does not have this ability. Wilder's jab is a joke, he doesn't throw it at all.

Seriously what fight were people watching!

Thompson must of seriously undertrained or was exshausted from his third training camp of the year! Maybe the second war with Price took alot out of him but he was seriously under par.

Watching that fight i bet Fury is kicking himself he didnt fight Pulev now as he would of jabbed his head off if he stayed disciplined.

Fury would beat Pulev, Wilder would Knock him out cold.

Pulev is clearly the more proven fighter so would be favourite but I've never been overly impressed with him.

The manner of Wilders win against Liakhovich suggests he could be a player in the division. If he jumps on the slow starting Pulev it isn't out of the question that he could pull off an upset.

Wilder would have great trouble hitting Pulev clean IMO.

    good point.

Mike Tyson fought scared fighters who were afraid to engage. He mowed them down. When he did fight brave fighters like Zouski, they were very limited like an Owen Beck, and when he fought some guys who were top 20s, they either got on their bike or fought defensive afraid to engage. Mitch Green

However, the first time Mike fought a guy with a semi solid beard, above average punching power, not shot to ****, not scared to death, and not a blown up LHW.....he got blasted out.

Sadly, that will one day be Wilder.

In about 2 yrs, Wlad will have been beaten, and Wilder will find himself with a title never having fought anyone as well rounded as a hungry Buster Douglas. He'll mow down the tiny Spinks's(Adamek, Cunningham) and topple the nervous Holmes's (maybe Wlad:think), and then run into a solid well rounded gatekeeper type like Douglas(Chisora) and find himself picking up shattered pieces of his career off the canvas.:think:think

Seriously you think Fury would beat Pulev :rofl

Dude, Fury is designed to lose by Pulev. Big, clumsy, uncoordinated and weak chinned. Pulev will stop him with jab ONLY.

When Pulev - Fury was in negotiations, Pulev stated that he is in no way afraid of Fury and he could beat him on clinching too. Means that Fury will not be able to lean on Pulev just like he does on the CW he fights. Also, Pulev mentioned that he has noticed massive flaws in the defence of Fury that he could exploit.

If there is one person that Pulev can TKFO this is Fury.
    Dude, get real. :good

    Yup

Pulev won't be able to take 1 of Wilder's rights
