Pulev's best: Thompson, Chisora, Dimitrenko, Ustinov

Wilder's best: Stiverne, Duhaupas, Washington, Scott

H2H I'd pick that version of Thompson to outpoint Stiverne, who was struggling with Austin prior to his fights with Arreola. Chisora likely beats Duhaupas on points given his workrate and awkwardness. So I'd put Pulev's best and second best wins above Wilder's in that respect.

Both men also have superior resumes, with Thompson holding wins over Solis x2, Price x2, and a competitive showing with a near prime Wlad. Chisora has wins over Helenius and Scott and a razor thin loss to Whyte (whom many people thought he beat). Stiverne in comparison has two wins over Arreola and a laboured win over Ray Austin, while Duhaupas has a win over Helenius and a very close win over Manuel Charr. None of them are going to set the world alight with their wins but there's definitely more depth in Pulev's opponents'.

Bump. Just as a reminder for the idiots saying AJ should dump a belt and face Wilder. Pulevs no worse a defense than Wilder.

Also, don't forget about Krasniqi. That was Thompson's 2nd best win, next to Solid. Krasniqi was a fringe top 10-15 he at his best, though he was probably declining when he faced Thompson. Price was hyped more, but Solis and Krasniqi were the better actual contenders.

This. Thompson was old and fat. Scott and Takam also beat Thompson so beating Thompson isn't a big deal.

Scott was one of Wilders best wins, lol. Thompson's career best win came after he lost to Pulev. The Solis he beat was better than anyone Wilder has ever beaten.

Ortiz is the one that should get the next shot at glass chin Joshua. The WBA will strip Joshua if he ducks Ortiz and takes the easy Pulev fight. And then Ortiz and Wilder can unify the titles in which Ortiz will win.

when u r plugging a struggling win over a gassing mid forties opponent as a best win, you know you are dealing with a truly appalling boxer.

I think Joshua will beat Pulev easily. But I also think he'll beat Wilder easily.

Pulev is definitely a solid defense and probably has about as much of a chance of landing a lucky punch as anyone else.

The only realistic option preferable to Pulev is Ortiz. Hopefully Joshua will be feeling extra confident after he KOs Kubrat and agree to face Ortiz next.
