Just about 3 weeks ago i pulled my External abdominal obilque on my lower back when i was warming up for a hard boxing session. Went to doctors Thay told me to take Ibuprofen gel on my pulled areas and take Ibuprofen tablets i have done so. Now i feel my back has recoverd but not 100% yet i have a boxing session tomorow and has to go back into training anys ones advise should i risk it ?
Have you done any physical exercise for 3 weeks..? or have you just rested. If you have just sat about, and went on afew walks to the shops. You have no idea, how your body is going to react to high intensity exercise again. But a pulled muscle is not really anything major.
Not really allthough i have bin shadow boxing at time where i feel i can also light jogging . was ment to book in an appointment at the Phsiotherapy but had no time to even ring them up =/
Just go then, if you want to go. And do some light shadow boxing, skipping/stretching. Personally, this is what i will do. Sometimes injuries, may be healed but your mind has not understood this yet. So subconsciously, you won't be the same in training for awhile. You will be holding back, and not training at a high enough intensity. So maybe its a good idea, to be in and around your gym.....psychologically. When you pull your muscles, one of the most important to keep on top off is flexibility. But if you don't feel confident, i wouldn't start smacking a heavy bag if i was you.
okay then thanks. I will do the light shadow boxing and light skipping specialy for warm up as i pulled the muscle while i was doing warm ups. And i agree on all your advise Allthough my pain is gone in my back i can sit up walk shadow box do whatver is possible in genreal thats why i say i feel likes its healed but when i bend down to strech as in bend down and touch my toes i can feel my back pulling weather or not its healed or its just my mind thinking it its another thing. After training, if you can get a warm bath............!!! or if you can, use a sauna. And then stretch after it.........static stretches. Injured muscles need blood circulation, getting a hot bath is called heat therapy. Drink plenty of fluids aswell..!!!!
intresting i allways took a shower but never thought about a bath thanks for the tip what i did do was i had a hot water bottle and allways placed it to where i pulled my pulled Muscles And to be fair its help hell of alot ill make sure i will do all the following thanks buddy
