    Wilder total 430 thrown 71 landed %landed 17%
    Fury total 327 thrown 84 landed % landed 26%
Do these stats paint an accurate picture of this bout? Was Wilder exposed? Will these stats be different in a rematch?
Just seen an update on punch stats for this fight on a youtube vid and they state Wilder only landed 36 blows while Fury landed 85!

They're pretty accurate. Fury didn't do much, Wilder didn't do anything, except 9th and 12th

That`s why I asked if these stats mean much, because the bulk of Wilder`s shots were landed after each knockdown, according to the Sun newspaper in Rd 9 Wilder landed 13 punches and in Rd 12 landed 11, the most one sided rd of the bout though was the 10th where Fury landed 10 punches and Wilder landed 1, in that round the gap between the two fighters in ability really showed up.

Fury completely outboxed Wilder in Rd 10 though, I think Wilder was gasing from te round before, plus he never does road work, he was out on his feet by the last round.

Surely you were impressed with Fury`s defense though, Wilder was largely baffled during this one and Fury was really impressive in Rd 10, great fight.

The truth is if Fury can avoid getting tagged in the rematch he wins handily

Punch stats can be deceiving. What I saw was Fury applying his craft with movement, feints, a good jab, and a gauge of distance. Wilder looked confused and out of his league. Fury’s movement and defense turned him into a timid head hunter. Fury outboxed him to a greater degree than the punch stats show.

First I am not a fan of either guy! But yes, I came away impressed by both of them and enjoyed the fight much more than I am enjoying all of the fanboy crying on this forum.

I do think Fury frustrated and kept Wilder off balance, all night!!!!! But I also don’t think he did a ton offensively to warrant all the post fight criticism.

A cool Whitaker esque shimmy shake does not make him win a round. A humorous display of sticking your chin out and putting your hands behind your back does not score punches no matter how entertaining they look. Raising your hands in the air after 5 rounds does not mean you won them lol...nor does regurgitating Paulies **** poor analysis.

It was a good close fight and I left appreciating and respecting both of them, while detesting both of thier fanboys! I had wilder up 3-2 after 5 and could see him winning all 5 on one card and losing all 5 on another, so unlike many I don’t think the final verdict was bad at all. On my card 113-113, with Fury up 2 going into the final round. If he fights the 12th smart....well then he wins on my card and an MD in the eyes of the judges. He got caught, and while his rise from the canvas was heroic (and in my mind it was!), it didn’t win him the fight.

But yes I came away with much respect

I would rather say that he completly neutralized him.

    That sounds right.

I think in the original numbers a lot of those shots Fury caught with his gloves but they were still counted for some reason.
