I know alot of local fighters still slur their speech ,as time goes on the one's that benefit in the long run are the promoters.
Agreed Ive always been a big fan of his, and its very sad to hear him slur his way through interviews. The worst part is, that hes STILL fighting.
A punch drunk fighter is probably one of the saddest things to see. One of my trainers in the past had the worst case ive ever heard. His speech was incomprehensible. It took almost a year to learn how to understand him, but damn, was that dude an amazing boxing mind. Really makes me want to keep my young son away from boxing, which is sad, because its a beautiful sport, that made me into the person I am today.
It's tough listening to interviews of brain-damaged fighters. They give so much and can't fully enjoy their years after boxing. The Jerry Quarry segment on Youtube is one of the saddest things I've seen with regard to boxing.

Hi I've been boxing for 3years as an amateur and have had a few fights, watching the videos make me wanna quit but idk if I should... Might just have a few more fights then quit, it's sad to here all this stuff about being punch drunk because I really liked boxing and am pretty good at it
Out of respect, I would rather not name those that have or will have pug ilistica dementia, we know who they are. It is a subject most boxing fans try not to think about, it is a dangrous business prize fighting and whilst participants are aware of the risks, I wonder whether we are somehow contributing.
Kenny Norton had a Horrendous car accident that he never recovered from! How his boxing career effected him we will never know. It really seems to effect some more than others. I have had dealing with boxers of all levels but I had a friend who after an amateur career of 30 odd fights you could tell he was already effected. He turning pro at a young age and had 65 fights. . Very strange because he was a mover that didn't get hit much.he fought in the lighter weights and ran like a track star. Others I have known fought face first in far more fights and did not seem affected.
To be honest I think some people over exaggerate people being punch drunk, like if a boxer slurs a word there like omg his punch drunk...people don't always pronounce every word perfectly and especially black people who also speak another language and might not be that good at English.
