Briggs vs Haye? That's not a fight, that's more like nap time in kinder garden.

There is no way Haye will fight like this again. It was a one off against a giant of a man. The blueprint was laid out for him by Chagaev and whilst I would have liked to have seen a bigger output from Haye you have to take in to account the broken hand in round 2. His fights are usually exciting but the physical differences betwen the pair determined the fight plan.

People keep talking like this is going to happen every time Haye steps in the ring...is this his first fight? He did pretty good for a debutant.

Haye broke his hand and also had the consideration that he wasn't hurting the guy, the guy is known for having a tough chin, so he knew he had to go 12 rounds which he's done once in his entire career in a fight that was one sided.

It doesn't mean this is David Haye every single fight from now on, or that he's a boring fighter.

Have you even seen the Chagaev fight? Chagaev was much more active than Haye. It is not even close to compare the two.

Haye is going to be the smaller man more often than not in this era of 'Super Heavyweights'. That does not give him an excuse to throw 11.9 punches a round and back peddle the whole fight.

Haye is the ONLY person to run from Valuev. What does that tell you?

Haye never took his eyes off Valuev. He was always watching the big guy, slipping his punches, and occasionally countering. I'm surprised Valuev even landed 64 punches, He seemed to miss with everything.
If you want to see a guy RUNNING then rewatch Froch vs Dirrell. Two guys who weighed the same by the way.

I have not seen the fight so I can't comment on who exactly I thought won or lost......that being said, when I watch a fight and score it live....I ONLY use punch stats AFTERWARDS to back up my claims round by round what I saw.......not to say "oh the guy landed more power shots he must have won the round"....stupid statement....if you have light to average puncher, but a clean jab was the cleanest punch it counts as a connect....if punch stats backs up my claims that the jab was cleanest effective punch thus my scoring is correct......

Another example......one guy could land one or 2 more total punches in the round on punch stats, but still lose the round being the other fighter landed the punches that were cleaner and more effective......

See how punch stats are not an accurate indicator of who exactly won a fight, they should only be used to justify what you saw live when scoring a fight....

Agreed. Punch stats are not the be all and end all by any means. But this was a relatively easy fight to score. Valuev threw more but missed with most everything. Haye threw little but landed with most everything he threw. Awful fight to watch. I'm only hoping I never have to see Valuev in a Championship match again.
