Does anyone have the punch stats on Ali vs the following fighters? Doug Jones, Kenny Norton, Bob Foster, Jimmy Young, Ron Lyle, and Larry Holmes?
The only punchstats of his that i have is on the Foreman and Frazier (FOTC) fights. Punchstats for the Holmes bout probably should be expressed in the number of "oohmp!"'s.
His punch stats against Young and Lyle must have been pretty **** poor, especially the Young fight. Lyle was, I believe, comfortably ahead on the cards before Ali rallied.
He should have been but only one judge saw it that way. The other two judges had begun their late rally for Ali's cause by the halfway stage: one had it even, the other had Lyle ahead by a point or something (probably thinking "hey if Willie Pep can win a round without throwing a punch then The Champ can win five"). :yep
