Yes, I wonder what would happen if Peter's opponents started retaliating with rabbit punches.

Well then you are still extremely biased as all of those guys you named were known for some illegal manuevers in their careers.

Every good to great fighter had at least one illegal method in his arsenal, it's part of boxing. If you would go and watch old tapes of fighters in 10s, 20s, someone like Dempsey always hit his fighter behind the head, why you say? Because his oppenents would either put there head down or turn there back to avoid his extremely hard punches, the same thing in Peter's case. I'm just glad Manny pointed out that Peters punches are legal, and there's no problem with him throwing looping punches that sometimes make it behind a fighters head, because they ducked or turned there head.

The one's that are turned into cant be prevented but the ones out of the clinch can.

    Peter does both.

In the rules it specifically states that should a boxer turn his back or head to his opponent that the ref has to take that into consideration before considering it a foul.

Alot of these guys when grabbing on to Sam will lock up his left hook and then turn their heads away from his right hand. Intentionally trying to draw a foul. Waldo did this non-stop in their first meeting. And Randy Newman, who was unwilling to stop Waldo from doing this, would be obviously biased in trying to deduct points from Samuel for punching the only thing he was offered. So he didn't do it. Infact he does little of anything in there but watch the fight.

Robert Byrd is a much more involved ref. But trust me when I tell you that Waldo fans don't want a repeat of the Brewster fight. Which is what will happen if the rematch with Sam lands Robert Byrd as it's ref. Waldo's fouls will come first and be penalized before any back of the head punches. And he will be DQ'd because of it.

I will agree with you on that, I think sometimes he gets frustrated when a fighter tries clinching him, especially when he's on the verge of finishing them off, which I think we seen clearly in the Wlad fight, after he landed a few decent punches, Wlad clinched and held on to him, Peter pushed him off and pounded him to the ground with a punch that caught him on the back of the head. I do see your point though.

We are talking about punches to the back of the head here not clinches.

    It's illegal period.

Stop making an exception because you are a fan of a fighter doing it.

Stop ignoring the obvious cause and maybe someone will care about your point.

    Armlocks are also illegal period.

Offering your opponent your back or the back of your head is also illegal period.

Focusing on one foul and not the other...hmm. I think we have a word for that. It's called PARTIALITY. :deal

If it happens, then it happens. Wlad fouled Peter by leaning on his back and neck, and clinched close to 95 times during there fight, yet everyone wants to say all the fouling was done by Peter, if you watch the fight closely, both men fouled or used rough house tactics to get the upperhand on there oppenent. Boxings a contact sport, and in all contact sports, fouls are inevitable.

The refs dont think like fanboys such as yourself.

"Well Wlad clinches alot so let him keep hitting to the back of the head"

Wlad clinching HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS DISCUSSION....NOTHING.

I guess it's a new thing turning your head away to stop your opponent from punching......it only happens in Peter fights.

Man you and i have been around for a while i never got into discussions with you.Didnt realize how childish you are.

to be honest.... i think that half the time its his opponents fault... for whatever reason, peter opponents always turn down or away from his punches, and it ends up hitting them in akward places, i cant blame peter for that.

Watch some of Foreman fights in the 70s, he was a similiar fighter as Peter, he threw sloppy, wild, very powerful punches, and he usually was on the attack like Peter, alot of times his oppenents would find any means possible to avoid getting hit by Foreman, that means turning there back, putting there head down etc..., and he used bang fighters on the back of the head often, he did it to Frazier and a few others during his younger days. I came to the conclusion, the fighters doing everything they can to avoid Peters punches, are as much to blame as Peter for throwing them, this is boxing, not golf, there will always be fouls in contact sports.

Maybe not DQ'ed but warned not to do it again. Golota didn't intentionally hit Bowe below the belt, but it happend, he was warned, and eventually DQ'ed.
