I'm surprised no one has commented on my Texas buddy Paulie Ayala's program he has running at his gym The University of Hard Knocks in Ft Worth Texas. The ex two time world champ has a FREE progam for people suffering from Parkinsons. He gets the OK from their doctors that they are capable of physical training & devises a training program for them. All the people participating say Paulie's regime has worked wonders for them. A chance encounter with a woman at the gym gave Paulie the idea back in 2012. From a few participants at first it has really snowballed & now has many many participants keeping him really busy The program was featured on the Friday Night Fights Fri night This is nothing new for Paulie who really is one of boxings really genuine good guys. His time spent working for charities ia well known around Texas although Paulie would rather have no publicity. When I was in Texas he spent hours visiting sick children & hospital & going around to schools warning kids of the dangers of drugs. Its great to see what a great place his gym is . What a difference to the gyms Paulie had to train in when actively boxing. Its so refreshing to see a real Man giving so much to less fortunate people suffering from this terrible debilitating disease God Bless you Paulie A man I'm proud to call a friend
Dont you think its sad that a post concerning one of boxings genuine good guys doing great things for the less fortunate people gets almost totally ignored? A post about another ludicrous claim by that wastrel mayweather would garner 200 replies instantly. To me that makes boxing forums very uncaring places. People claim to have heard nothing about this but I'll lay odds 90 % of you statesiders watched last weeks Friday Night Fights where it was featured. Boxing needs more guys like Paulie Ayala & less like Mayweather it would be a far better place
I assure you the feeling is mutual. Its clowns like you that spoil boxing forums. Maybe you'll behave better when you reach puberty:good
I didn't see the FNF clip, but I do remember Paulie Ayala from when he was fighting in the 90s and early 2000s. He was a decent world class operator - not an ATG, but he fought some, and held his own. And it sounds like he's a real ATG in his post boxing career. :yep And you are right. Guys like this should be given more attention. Bravo to Paulie Ayala for giving back to boxing, and his community.:thumbsup
