No correlation between size and punching power???? You must understand the meaning of the word! If this was true, then bantamweights would punch as hard as heavies! MADNESS!!!
steve pannell hit harder than both of them= didnt steve pannell put wlade on the deck with one shot????
Shavers probably had more power, ATGs said he like a truck. But he was a muchore flawed fighter than Wlad: Wlad has better technique which allows him to land his power on generally moderatebopposition well. Also Elad is much bigger than Shavers so considering that id say Shavers had more raw power
Earnie Shavers was 6'0..... 6'0. He lost 14 times. He has a k.o. percentage of 76.4 percent, against fighters whose average height was under 6'0. Respect to him, he worked hard, he did dangerous fights, he showed hearth etc.. But the actual top 5 of the HW division all punches harder than him. And many others.
Wlad is bigger but he couldn't ko Haye despite landing some flush shots and I'll just believe what the fighters said who fought Shavers he was a really hard puncher and so is Wlad I think we can't say that for sure because they don't have any common opponents.
And Tua and Tyson are 5'10''. How does that mean anything he wasn't a great fighter but he was one of the greates punchers ever what does his skill have to do with his power? And no top 5 HW divison from ANY era hit harder than Shavers please name me the top 5 HWs who hit harder than Shavers?
So many ******s in this thread. This is one of those threads that makes you wonder if you can become less intelligence by repeatedly viewing displays of idiocy.
I know That's why I ask it when Shavers and punching power is mentioned because based on film he simply wasn't that great of a puncher. Meanwhile Julian Jackson somebody whose punching power can be proven by watching highlights http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=herrJp3Ai-I
Tyson is as well, but most boxing fans have the iq of a gnat and blindly just repeat what they're told. "Tyson was a combination puncher, not a one punch guy." "Shavers was a true one punch knockout artist." It's shocking how many people still believe this nonsense, despite it being very easily disproven by simply watching them fight. Sad, really.
There's a law on this forum that forces you to say Shavers is the biggest puncher the world will ever know and that SRR is the g.o.a.t. So obviously, people parrot the same ESB truth and that makes them feel like they KSAB.
