I was studying interesting thing out. I have been looking frame by frame videos of people hitting the bag shot from the side. I noticed good way to check something about the punching technique. What happens in the impact. I have seen two types of hits. There is the push hit when the glove makes contact with the bag and when going one frame per time you notice that pretty much nothing happens immediately, only very small stuff, instead the bag momentum starts to pick up slowly. Then is the something which I would call as the sharp hit, as the glove makes contact with with the bag, the reaction is much faster, the bag flies, jerks, bends, swings, you name it in a instant. In the next frame after the surface contact. No slow growing of power. Then you have of course the follow through also. Has anybody else tried of watching material frame by frame?
Yes i think everyone here will have at some point, its a great way to steal moves/tricks off of the best boxers or boxers that suit your style, i cant say ive watched slow motion bag training though i might give it a try, id say the different ways the bags reacting to impact is due to the different kinds of shots like a fast snapping straight right will be different than a straight right thats been thrown with more dedication, a straight right thats been sat down on but still going for some snap would probably provoke a different reaction, then theres pushing where youre driving through the target from the back foot which would cause different reactions, subttle accidental differences in technique will probably also make a very small difference in how the bag responds to the impact, then you can go into range and look at range and see that there are factors regarding range there that will probably change the way a bag responds after impact, then you can look at momentum of the bag and in which direction it is traveling in comparison to the punch, then timing of the punch, which could also change the effects upon impact. all these tiny little differences and more probably mean that there is a lot more to it than it seems at first and that each individual impact the bag recieves will probably provoke quite a unique individual reaction, even if it doesnt seem so to the naked eye.
