Even thought the punches may barely touch the face and solidly blocked by the gloves, I feel they are scoring blows because they are making an impact. So not clean scoring punches, but should be given credit for putting your opponent in that position.
yep in sparring bigger men ive felt stunned blocking shots with my gloves. your gloves only protect so much, but cant score these punches because it would take timing away from the sport, the cleaner scoring punches are scored by the more skillful and quicker fighters that take there time and pick the gaps, by feinting, handspeed and movement.
