I punched maybe 4 walls on 4 different occasions, about maybe 3 or 4 times in a row as hard as I could out of anger/frustration. I guess it depends on how you do it, but full strength like I did was dumb, as I imagine you could end up messing up your hand. I did it all with my right hand, and my knuckle area that made the most contact swelled up each time for a couple of days. Now when I make a fist and you look at my right middle knuckle, which is the one that sticks out most, it is quite a bit larger then my left one, which was not the case before. I know this probably isnt what your looking for, but I figured it might somehow tie in with the whole bone mass building thing.
A boxers tools are his hands. If you were to punch walls.. you will damage your hands. I couldn't imagine alot of boxers punching walls for fear of hurting their hands - the advent of the punching bag has eliminated the need to punch walls. Undoubtably their would have been notable fighters in history who swore by it - but, it really doesnt make alot of sense to do it.
I prefer to randomly punch passers-by on the street in the nuts. Gotta love the feeling of tearing skin and sinew as they collapse at your feet like a sack of ****.
When the Yankees blew a 3-0 game lead agianst the Red Sox in 04 I punched that wall so ****ing much it looked like a horror movie my right hand was about the size of my head and blood was all over the wall and somehow on my back and ass.
I have to admit I do that from time to time when theres nobody around But never with full force just enough to feel some heat on knuckles. Have no idea how that would help with boxing, why some boxers are fond of doing this ?
ya when i was a lil kid who coudln't control my temper. now sometimes when i'm bored i'll shadowbox type thing n punch something, but not hard or nething
