I think Paul smith should take over from Jim watt

Funny enough was messing about with the youtube internet thing on this tv i've had for a while now but which I hadn't bothered using properly til last night. Came across a HBO highlights package of Calzaghe-Kessler so gave it a look with Froch-Kessler coming up. Forgot what a good fight it was and how sharp Kessler was. Just unlucky to come up against Calzaghe's variety of work and engine.

And Emanuel Steward's commentary was superb. He predicted how the fight was going to develop in the opening rounds and his commentary was bang on throughout. However, to counterbalance Steward's superb insight Max Kellerman delivered his customary slow drawl soundbites of utter bollocks. Unfortunately, he's the one who still gets to spout his nonsense. At least over here we usually only have to put up with him doing the in-ring interviews from time to time. Although after his one with Broner post Broner-Rees that is more than enough.

 

I reckon spencer Oliver will be good

 

Him and Jamie Moore would make a great team.

 

It would be great to see Andy Kerr back on tv he kept Bunce in check which he badly needs as his ego gets the better of him on Beernation.

 

Sport punditry is possibly the easiest TV job out there!

Alan Hansen has been in auto pilot for years.

Look at ITV football, they're on screen for what? 10-15 minutes altogether? The get a huge wage for spouting stuff anyone can say!

But on boxing terms, I'd keep Nelson, as he generally understands the ups and downs of the sport and Jamie Moore/Spencer Oliver as support.

I'd have McGuigan back as a commentator, he was really good back in the nineties.

 

Nick Halling in the ****ing bad and Ian Darke in the super good

 

None of the ex pros on SKY that I dislike,probably like Nick Piper the least.Jim Watt no ball of fire but IMO knows his stuff.Ryan Rhodes and especially Moore of the occasional ones doing nicely.Bit biased on Nelson as met him,not in a boxing situation,and he was a terrific guy to talk to,by no means a prima donna.Good presenter too.The non ex pros I can take or leave.
Boxnation I think has a better team.Many won't agree but for me Bunce is the jewel in the crown.The best ever in his field.Eccentric but entertaining.Lillis far better than any of the Sky non pros,like him.Barry Jones a real find,knows his stuff,interesting and funny.Smith not funny but interesting.Nothing not to like.
The best reader of a fight IMO is Duke,but not been on much,would be an asset to either.
