The ones that picked Casey must have had a few too many pints of Guiness

A few days ago you said you ''heard some stories'' that made you put more on a El Chacal win, now you've ''heard some stories'' to make you think otherwise?

Anyhow, Rigo has always looked like that, nothing to read into. He still could be taking Casey lightly, but even if he is he'd still be twice the fighter Casey is. Those three that picked him are mad, even worse than picking Munroe over Nishioka.

Jpab its good that you are when non-nationalistic it comes to boxing, but you seem to go out of your way to be unbiased towards irish fighters:hat

well fror example when a possible Hyland-Acosta matchup was being talked about you said that you wouldnt want a fighter the level of Hyland to beat a potential world champion in Acosta. I found it unusual that you werent supporting your fellow dub..:good

That was said in the context that Hyland would never(not that I wouldn't like him too) get to the level that Acosta could potentially reach. And while, on the surface, yes, it would be good at the time for Paulie to win, in the long run it probably wouldn't be the best of things. Acosta's win over Faccio(and the manner in which he acheived it) suggests to me he could go very far, and I wouldn't want him to be derailed by someone who more than likely isn't at elite European level. I do like Paulie, I've met him a few times and he's a nice guy, even if he does support Rovers.:yep

I do see your point though, I get a lot of that. But boxing is an individual sport, so I follow certain individuals. Obviously it's nice if an Irish fighter has success, but it's not all that important to me. Bernard Dunne deserves credit though, for the Cordoba fight he somehow made me 50-50 on not minding who won, despite me always being a huge Maestrito fan.

I get it, its good to have a few posters on the forum who arent affected by nationalism anyways and use their head, not their heart to pick a winner.:thumbsup

I just posted a link to an article from one of Britains top trainers saying that he gave Hatton the nod.

Most went for Nishioka, yes, like most Irish went for Rigo!

Vegas comes to Dublin as The Jackal and Casey are Bang on weight

Cheers. I dont do it intentionally, I feel the same about people from other countries. For example, you can be certain that if Ricky Burns wasn't from Britain he would be absolutely chastised(and rightly so) for his title reign thus far. He receives some critisism, but not enough IMO.

He was taking the ****, get over it.

Yes, its called getting information and altering your position. Are you that set in your mind that you are unable to alter your perception of an event when you hear more information? First I heard he banjo'd Douda Sow in sparring in Cork and then I heard something some serious yesterday.

Of the three of the 12 that went for Casey all cavaeted their opinion, I expected two of them to go for Casey and that is why I asked for their opinions. One is Caseys sparring partner and the other works very closely with DolPhil. The one I didnt expect was Steve Welling - he is English born and writes for Boxing News, BoxRec News and irish-boxing.com and is a respected guy.

There are plenty, you go out of your way to align yourself with the Brits in a vain attempt to be seen as "unbiased"

What you have failed to master is that you can support and fight to the hilt and still not think he is going to win.

I've £350 on Rigo to stop Casey but will be supporting the Limerickman all the way.
