Says the dope who I continuously hand is ass. Tell me dope if I didnt understand styles why would I pick Martinez to beat Pavlik?

You just dont understand size difference. Mayweather beating Pavlik. :rofl How many people agreed with you on that thread? Or how about your Alexander is overrated thread. Was funny reading people laughing at your ass on that one.

Pavlik is a slugger/brawler. He throws a simple 1-2 combination. His only real money punch is the right hand, which he has fallen inlove with to the point that anyone who gets hit by it should write an apology to defense.

Martinez is about as pure a boxer as you can get. Creates opening with distance, uses angles, keeps the other fighter at the end of his jab ect ect.

Slow footed sloths getting their asses handed to them by fighters with actual ability No surprise to me.

You're gonna have to be careful using that word "pure boxer", its an exclusive term used only by the "real boxing fans"...they have it similar to running and potshotting...:bart

I think when they hear the term they think Corey Spinks.

Martinez is in there boxing, not brawling, not slugging, at his best he's throwing combinations, and even turns his opponent after throwing the right hooks similar to Pacquiao.

Thats a really great combination that alot of fighters seem to struggle with. Just like they are working the heavy bag.

I just ignore you MW. You don't know boxing, so our debates can't go anywhere. There's no point debating with someone who doesn't know the very basics of the sport.

"Pavlik is a slugger/brawler", "Martinez is as pure a boxer as you can get". Wrong and wrong. I didn't think you understood the complexities of style but this is basic stuff you can't get right.

Ah, well, I don't care. I'm done with you.

Agreed, its actually a basic move that is quite underestimated in boxing. Side-stepping makes punching from different angles much easier and harder to defend.

That's a good reply! After someone points out you don't know the basics, to still pretend you are smarter than them, that you're seeing something they don't know.

Styles in boxing are one of the first things a novice fan would learn, along with which punches are which, the divisions etc., yet you still don't realize that Martinez isn't a pure boxer and Pavlik isn't a brawler/slugger.

Incredible. Like I said, you've shown your lack of knowledge clear enough, so I'm done with you, mate.

But please, feel free to turn it around and say I know nothing now...yeah, that'll teach me!

Fair play to Martinez for looking extravagant in his superb victory over Pavlik. One thing though MichiganWarrior, were you picking Dirrell/Taylor/Pascal to beat Froch? It's one thing to praise a style, but I don't think its entirely necessary to spite another, especially when you can't argue with the success Froch has had up until now.

P.S I'm not kicking off or anything here, just discussing...

Martinez aint pure boxer, whatever u mean by it , jesus christ people, how is it that when one guy outboxes another he's suddenly becoming a "pure boxer", Martinez likes to trade punches and whoop his oponnents with wild hooks in the exchanges , watch his other fights plz ,just cuz he didnt do it this time versus much bigger oponnent doesnt mean he's a pure boxer.

I bet that if adamek outboxes and wins with arreola u re gonna say he's a pure boxer too.

Three "Thumbs up" in-a-row, and without a single word of comment in the entire thread!

Not only have you breezed this weeks "Least most significant poster" award, but you are in the running for the "Most pathetic poster" garland!!

Try having an original thought, moron!! The likes of you are why our great site is now an internet laughing stock!!

I have often read Michigan Warrior's posts and disagreed with him (And many others) but the guy at least makes an effort!!

For what it is worth, Martinez was always likely to be a stylistic nightmare for Pavlik and it truly was yet another piece of appalling match-making by Kelly's "Advisors" (I admire loyalty, but these jokers need jettisoned asap) but I could never describe Pavlik as a "Brawler" or Martinez as a pure boxer so I guess Michigan's "Point" (Such as it is) is moot!!

Michigan Warrior's hatred of Froch blinds him to objectivity, which is a ****ing shame because when you remove the guy from the subject of Froch he really does post some sense!!

Having said that you are wasting your time in trying to convert this particular zealot!! He is going to blindly hate Froch and his effective style no matter how much sense you throw at him!!

i like the brawlers more than the boxers.

they have to take chances to impose there will over opponents.

not use the athletic gifts at range and dance around like a fanny. :yep

hatton, barrera, chavez, tyson, mcguigan etc. :happy
