    [FONT=Arial,Helvetica,Geneva,Swiss,SunSans-Regular]KAT’S BACK

    Michael Katsidis is back in the gym and beginning preparations for his next bout, no matter who it comes against. He and his trainer/manager Brendan Smith were at the Wild Card this week and sparred six rounds on Wednesday. The cuts he suffered from his bloody war against Czar Amonsot in July seemed to have healed up just fine.

    Both Katsidis and Smith seem to have no problem about the 20-80 split they would have to take in order to face lightweight champion Juan Diaz (no, it's not Joel Casamayor). They believe what's most important is the opportunity to face 'the Baby Bull' and that they will be more than fairly compensated after they come out victorious.

    Now that's the fighting spirit.

    The purse bid for Diaz-Katsidis takes place on Tuesday.

    :happy:happy:happy
    should be a war.:good Diaz by TKO.

    Diaz is overly hyped and feather fisted?

    Your crazy. That kid is great. I love watching Katsidis fight, but he has zero defense to speak of and will be hit WAAAAAY too much for this fight to be competative.

    The fight gets stopped on cuts in the 6th or so.

    I was thinking the same thing, it's not like Diaz can't take a power shot or two and I'm also not convinced of Katsidis' power, considering what it took to beat that Czar Amonsat, who was KOed in a round a division below(could be weight issue's), but 1 round!

    I think Katsidis also has the worst skin in all of boxing, those cuts were insane for what he recieved and Diaz with his short, accurate combo's, albeit not powerful are strong and will scrape across his face.

    I'm afraid to see the bloodbath myself, but Katsidis is getting cut up and stopped somewhere mid rounds, providing that his skin is as bad as the Amonsot fight showed.

    Where are you getting this from?

    The kid has phenominal stamina, workrate, accuracy, ring smarts (so to say), speed, movement, etc. And for a high output, offensively minded fighter, his defense is also great (when compared to other fighters of his mold). He has also shown he has a beard.

    What have you seen that makes you think he is over hyped? Because you are the first person I have heard say that.

    Imagine if he was the same guy with the same ability and skin down at 115 and had to fight Mijares, fight would get stopped 2nd round on cut and brutalised skin. Ruining a career in 2 rounds is what a god can do, so take a knee and pray.

    I'm doing my best to shred Hatton down to 0, so I have your props are kept in check.:yep

    Have a thread coming the week of the fight that will be very detailed and get to take all of the perspective with it considering how the fight will go. Floyd deserves heat for being a cherry picking *****.

    The worst thing that can happen to Katsidis in this match is not getting stopped on cuts. If he gets "lucky" and doesn't get cut up, it might end up being a very dangerous night for him. This is a situation where his health could seriously be ****ed up. A fighter with heart like his and a solid chin up against a very high-volume, light-puncher like Juan Diaz could result in brain damage after he gets hundreds of power punches to the head over 10+ rounds.
