"Tyson Fury will get an 80 per cent share of the pot for his heavyweight clash with Dillian Whyte after the WBC confirmed the purse split for the bout.

The decision will be a huge blow to mandatory challenger Whyte who was demanding a 45 per cent cut.

The fight will now go to purse bids on January 11 unless a deal is struck between the two parties before then

I thought the whole thing was off because Whyte had a hearing scheduled for mid March and Fury wanted to fight sooner than that.

    Business is business.

Clearly all parties all playing silly beggars not wanting to give an inch happy to let it fall through. Who knows might still happen if we're lucky, it's a massive domestic fight which is the only saving grace here. If they were really looking at Ruiz Jr they'd know it's not even worth the hassle, again I think Arum is just name dropping him. Helenius is only good because he's cheaper but won't sell very well.

WBC just want their sanctioning fee and soon will want to get rid of the Whyte headache.

Hearn seems to pull some decent legal muscle when he needs it though, got Whyte off a 2 year ban so the WBC won't be too adverse to seeing Fury smash Whyte back to mars.

This is the issue I have with Dillian Whyte. He hasn’t been mistreated by the WBC instead it was more likely his business decisions and weird “b sample” fiascos that has held him from getting a shot. Let’s not forget when they told the journalist that he was fighting Luis Ortiz for the WBC mandatory shot and then the next day they announce Whyte vs Parker in a WBO eliminator.

Or how about when AJ offered him a shot for $5 Million and he says he was worth more so went another route. Or the weird failed test and long wait for the b sample after the fight with Oscar Rivas. Or getting KO’d by Povetkin further delaying his shot. And now he’s demanding a 45% split with Fury and he’ll pass up another opportunity for that reason.

20% more than Whyte deserves but this is a very fair split nonetheless :D

Absolutely pathetic by WBC. They just beg another lawsuit.

How in the blue hell you can order 80-20, when in your ***** rules you clearly stated that the mandatory gets 30% ???
Also they removed the Interim rules, but they didn't change it, where it clearly stated that Interim gets 45%.
What is the point in Interim.

Anyway i don't give a ***** how much Whyte or Fury would take out of this fight. I'm actually happy that they at least make it clear there is no way out for Fury.

Let's see now if team Fury will still trying to duck Whyte and keep talking about Fury fighting another guy, as they clearly are not happy with the fight going on purse bid.

20% is likely to be millions of £

If he has even the faintest belief he can win, Whyte should take the money and fight Fury.

So Whyte probably get about 2-3mil? He should tear the hand off it, because he if he is confident of winning then he can make 5x next time. Anyway Whyte will be retired by Fury is my predictions, so he should take that money now

Whether you like fury or not financially he's in a different stratosphere to Whyte.. and even though 20% sounds a lowball it is still millions.. Whyte forgets he was knocked out by a 40-year-old a couple of fights ago.. he was lucky to get the decision against ageing Chisora not a long ago as well.. ridiculous to think you deserve 45% LOL… & what's Whyte got to lose? He gets a shot at the consensus best heavyweight in the world and to challenge for the belt he's supposedly been chasing for so long… He should shut up bitching & get in there.. because he's not a division figurehead & he certainly isn't a star, and if he declines I'd quite happily watch fury V Ruiz instead as I think overall Ruiz is a better fighter anyway if he actually dedicates himself

The WBC has a clause in their doctrine that they can adjust the purse split to a fighter that has the higher earning draw in the fight. Whyte now either fights for 20% of purse or he gives up is mandatory. Since the purse split favors the other promoters fighter , it makes no sense for Hearn to outbid Arum. He would be doing Arum a huge favor by paying Fury 80% of the fight money. Hear. Would lose money in A fight that will not be a big sell in my opinion.

Whyte was dumb to try and out price himself to begin with. This backfired big on him.

Whyte fought hard but well against Rivas, and looked like Dillian Shyte against the Statue with the Iron Chin Maruisz Wach. He was very uncomfortable with Shot Wachs Jab. Lool
