25% or 30% seems fair but I doubt Fury's team will give him that now.

Fair split. Especially if there is no silly rematch clause attached.

Whyte should take it. What's the alternative?

Back to fighting Otto wallin and then faking an injury?

The split ain't fair when the WBC rules clearly stated that mandatory to get 30%, and Whyte is even an Interim.

How is it fair if there is a rules if you become a X in your work, and you will get 30% bonus for example, they said they will give you 20, for whatever reason? Explain to me how is that fair ???

The rules for mandatory and interim splits are put in place to avoid this exact type of bull****. That is their only reason for existing. To stop a team delaying or avoiding a fight by deliberately low balling.

    WBC showing who's the boss.
20% is quite low, but I think Whyte has a chance at getting a bit more, as Top Rank doesn't want this to go to purse bids.

I don't see how it's that low. 70/30 is the normal split. Fury makes 15x more than Whyte makes, so they modified to 80/20. Fury will only be making 4x more than Whyte, even though he usually makes 15x more.

When Fury was Klitschko's mandatory, the split was changed to 80/20 as well. I don't remember anybody complaining back then and Fury makes wayyyyy more money per fight now than Klitschko was making back then.

Whyte is soooooo confident he should win,why doesn't he take the fight? He can become the man that beat the man then

Better than ducking Wallin for lower money

Because he knows there is no route to victory for him against Fury. He just wants a last big payday before getting retired by Tyson. And now he's getting an even lower cut than Arum offered because he bit the hand that fed him with his ridiculous greedy demands

Great work by Mauricio Suliaman. He made the right call

Not sure it is the right call. Potentially the best outcome now for Whyte would be to take this to arbitration, which could be the worst one for fans.

70/30 was the minimum most of us expected Whyte to get based on WBC rules. The WBC doing 80/20 are almost pushing this toward arbitration in March. Which kicks the can down the road, delaying the undisputed fight, just like Wilder v Fury 3 did. So I have to ask why is it always the WBC side of things stopping undisputed? It was in 2014 they wouldn't let Stiverne fight for undisputed. Not much has changed since then

Let's hope the fight gets made sooner rather than later.

You're trolling, but I'm sure you know that Fury doesn't make 15x more than Whyte per fight and never have. Frank Warren saying that Whyte got only 300k from Povetkin 2 is just a joke and Frank knows it himself.

I'm not trolling at all. Fury absolutely does make 15x more than Whyte. Whyte's filed purse was $400,000 and Fury's filed purse was $6,000,000.

Fury's real purse was $30,000,000 and Whyte's real purse was likely a couple million.

No matter how you slice it, Fury normally makes WAYYYY more than 4x of what Whyte makes. So for Whyte to get 20% is very fair. Fury only got 20% when he was the mandatory.

It's the same reason why Whyte thought he could argue a case for 45% there's a clause in their rules which allows for splits to be decided by the WBC in certain circumstance outside of the normal purse splits.

Whyte's attempt to gain a larger than 30% split as per WBC rules has kind of back fired, by questioning the 70/30 split he opened the door for them to give him a lower split.

Question is now, does Whyte and Hearn lower their 45% demand but ask for more than 20% to try and secure the fight and will Fury budge and give Whyte more than 20% to ensure it doesn't go to purse bids. So it might not be over for Whyte he might still be able to get more than 20% as long as he's willing to fight on a Top Rank card which might even be in the US.

You've been saying all week Whyte can beat Fury so why doesn't he just take it then.....? And beat the man who beat the man eh...

That's right, because you weirdo Fury haters know that Shyte has absolutely **** all chance.

Agreed, Whyte and Hearn were idiots for not taking the offer that Arum and his team made.

    Bunch of whoppers at Matchroomn.

That's my take on it too. If Whyte's really ambitious and genuinely confident in his abilities to become the next WBC heavyweight champion of the world and all that follows should he win, the money this time round is largely irrelevant.

A classic case of a Sprat to catch a Mackerel if ever there was one.

However, if he's not really confident he can win then he'll be looking mainly at another potential career loss to money ratio earned.

I really hope the fight goes ahead. The pressers alone will be outrageous and comedy gold. It's a very decent domestic stadium scrap.
