AJ earned $25 million and sold out MSG for his 1 fight in the USA when defending his title vs a late replacement and no name Andy Ruiz. Just saying.

For fair comparison Tyson Fury Vs Wallin drew 3,577 fans for his lineal title defence in the USA.

So after his first fight vs Wilder, Fury was a bigger name in the US? The money the wallin fight drew tells me not really.

I wouldn't be shocked if Whyte does take legal action using the WBC rulebook against them. If he gets legal advice telling him his case is extremely strong he very much could do that.

    Define big?

A big name in the US does not draw less than 4000 fans in a Vegas fight like Fury did vs Wallin.

UK I would say Fury sells the same amount of tickets Whyte does if he fought here more often. Would Furys ppv numbers be any higher than Whyte's have been?

So it's 80/20 for now unless of course their lawyers tell them they need to U-turn like they did after saying Whyte wouldn't be mandated to fight Fury while they were in arbitration, lol.

Hopefully for Whyte he has better lawyers than the WBC.

Firstly, why are you discussing a fight that Fury had in September 2019 as a guage of his popularity? He's now had 2 huge fights with Wilder since then and won/defended the WBC titlle. It's a pointless comparison.

Fury has 5.4 million followers on Instagram, Dillian Whyte in comparison 450k.... Yes it's social media, but it's a good metric to indicate how engaged the public are with someone.

To suggest that Whyte sells the same amount of tickets in the UK as Fury is frankly ridiculous.

Apparently Whyte v Wallin ticket sales were not going well either. And that's in London O2 with Wallin being a bigger name now than he was before the Fury fight.

    Hopefully not.
Hopefully no more need for lawyers, unless for contracting the actual fight.

Fury will vacate if it goes to purse bids. Bet on it. Bookmark it in the calendar. There's no way Hearn and Warren will let him fight on DAZN over BT+ESPN.

I do feel sorry for Dillian Whyte.
80/20 is not fair. I was thinking 65-35 would be the perfect split.

Book deals. WWE contracts. Nominated for Sports Personality of the year a couple of times. Appeared on Joe Rogan. 2 million twitter followers (Whyte has 300k). However you want to cut it Fury is a boxing A lister and Whyte is a B lister at best. Furys wife is probably more famous lol, she seems to be on TV all the time these days.

Fury is probably as big a draw as Joshua these days.

Both have proven they can sell out the O2 but neither have proved they are stadium level of popular like Joshua.

Whyte's best UK PPV numbers are comparable to Fury's UK PPV numbers that we know off for the first Wilder fight but we don't know about the BT numbers for the other 2 Wilder fights as BT don't release their numbers.

But based on what we know I'd say Fury is the bigger name and the bigger draw but not significantly so. What really makes a difference is Fury's deal with ESPN which ensures a reported $100 mill for 6 fights which is about $16 mill per fight and that US TV regardless off if Fury sells well in the US ensures he's worth the far larger split. Not 80-20 but 70-30 I think was fair but obviously Whyte wants more.

We both know that won't be the case. They are still in arbitration now, I don't see this is resolved without lawyers. WBC didn't even want to give him a mandatory shot it was only this legal case that led to that so I expect Whyte to further push his legal case as that's really the only proven recourse of action he has with the WBC firmly set against him.

It's not a fair comparison..... All of Whytes recent fights have been prime UK time and Furys have been at about 5 in the morning UK time. That has a huge impact on numbers.

Fury is more than capable now of selling out a UK stadium, he's not fought here since 2018 and a hell of a lot has happened since then in his career.

Yeah agreed, it's absolutely mental that people on this forum think Whyte is somehow in the same conversation in terms of popularity...
