If Canelo agreed to this, there better not be any stipulations.

I do think Cotto deserves more but this is excessive

almost looks like he tried to out-price himself....except it didn't work.

I think you should look in a mirror :conf

As for Scar, all he ever does is run around and go all ad hominem on people who make light of some of the antics of his favorite fighters. So yeah, watching him go rabid has become pretty amusing.

Weren't you claiming Canelo never fought at MW and calling people ret@rds for asking Canelo to fight GGG?

Wrong. MW is up to and including 160.
    Someone never finished primary school.

    160 is the middleweight LIMIT.

A 159 lb catchweight is MW.

A 154.3 lb catchweight is MW.

A 156 lb catchweight is MW.

A 153.7 lb catchweight is JMW, not MW.

A 160.5 lb catchweight is SMW, not MW.

Just like how a 155 lb catchweight is indeed MW.

It's actually so sad you had to break down weight ranges for people here....it's crazy what some of these "fans" claim to know but they don't even know the raw basics.

I don't go ad hominem on people who don't go after me first. Find one instance where I have, please try. I'm actually pretty respectful with people I disagree with unless they are acting like steaming piles.

Your statements about me are as vacuous as your lectures on weight.

Everybody acts like steaming piles, so if I did waste the time to find multiple examples, boy, isn't that a convenient cop out?

And do you not think you perhaps act like a steaming pile at times?

This post of yours would be the same as if I responded to your "look in the mirror" statement with... "Find one instance where I have, please try." And then I prefaced that with, "I only do it to people who act like steaming piles." Everybody views themselves in that way. And they should, unless they are admitting to being a legit troll. It's the internet so whatever dude.

    Disagree.

    154 < MW < 160.

    not 154 < MW < 155.

You fail the test. Go back to school.

The only cop out here is to self justify with unfounded assumptions and sweeping generalizations.

My mirror comment applied to you because its exactly what you were doing by jumping into Scar's pile, no real effort required to find.

You are right about one thing though, it is the internet so its w/e :good I do think debating and rhetoric is more entertaining when it doesn't devolve to simple nastiness and name calling but again, whatever :conf

Respect to Canelo though, not many fighters would take such a small purse when they know they are as big if not a bigger name than the other guy.

So, the actual purse split was closer to 65-35, but Cotto is getting all the gate.

What's the HBO PPV revenue split????
The vast majority of Cottos payday is gonna come from the live gate, who knows if Oscars has got Canelo as 70-30 deal on the PPV revenue.

Lets wait for the final figures before we start assuming Canelo is getting taxed.

    And besides that....

It's really all a mute point considering Canelo will likely stop Cotto, take his WBC MW title, and even with GGG holding 3 1/2 MW titles, vs Canelos lone Lineal title, Canelo will still get the lions share of the gate, PPV revenue, against GGG.
Plus, due to GBPs deal to feed Lemiuex to GGG, theyve probably bout Canelo a couple of cheap stepaside $$$$ fights for Canelo to get properly adjusted to not having to boil down 20lbs.

I think if Canelo wins, GGG will be obligated to defend his interim title vs Heiland next, or he could allow Canelo to fight him.

The IBF rankings currently have O'Kane, Johnson, and Wade as their top 3 contenders, and Ive heard they're preparing to stage a 4 man tournament for the mandate, so GGG wont be obliged to defend the IBF til probably next summer, which leaves the Saunders/Lee winner as big options.

Seems the Ireland fight tanked, so theyre moving it to UK, and while I think the money will be solid for both guys in the UK, it still won't match what the winner will get to fight GGG on HBO or PPV.

If Lee wins, GGG is next. If Saunders wins, Eubank Jr will drop his WBA interim title and fight Saunders, leaving Chudinov to fight for it again.

Eubank would be best served legacy wise to press the issue with Jacobs, but cashwise, he's best to go for BJS should he win the Lee fight.

So, I guess that leaves GGG fighting Soro, Kopylenko, or Magomedov while he waits for the Lee/Saunders/EubankJr/Canelo to build up.

Eventually, sometime late next yr, Canelo will be getting a HUGE payday. Easily making up for the short stack in this fight.:think
