December '11... Ward won, Kessler won, Bute won. Ward wants Bute maybe after an easy fight in Oakland just to set the record straight at 168, Kessler wants Ward to avenge the beating he got, Bute wants Ward OR Kessler because he wasn't able to get his hands on either in the past.

Ward argues "I won the S6 fack you all", Kessler & the WBC argue "he's got my fackin belt" and Bute argues "fack both of you, you're both available champions and we shall unify".

    What happens?!?????

This is an example of a boxer using his status to get a pay day for his opponent (a title holder) to ensure the fight gets made.

Stieglitz isn't worth that money, but Kessler is making sure he gets a title fight by offering it, showing legacy rather than dollars (while also pocketing $1.4 mil himself)

If the Kessler pre-Calzaghe is around, I think he wins.
    Otherwise Ward.

$1.4 million for Kessler. Good news. That's almost twice what Bute offered him.

    Against whom?

I thought the point of the question was to figure out the first match-up organized between the 3.

I happen to think that Froch isn't out of the conversation, even if he loses the Ward match.

The rumored offer flying around also included all Danish TV rights.
Some commentators on this forum pretend that isn't Bute's to give. That is stupid, since without Bute, Kessler gets less danish TV money, as evidenced by this fight.
Also, if having all Danish TV rights wasn't worth much to Kessler, he could have "traded" half of them for a lump sum offer instead, to be added to the 750k. Maybe brought it to 1,75 million. Plus Showtime money, etc.

    Hmmm?

That's right. IMO it comes down to who Hershman thinks he can market better... I say Ward gets an easy fight while the other two go at it.

And you know what, not a SINGLE fvckin soul on here seems to have mentioned it is / was a high risk situation for Bute as well, assuming everyone on here thinks he would have been favored against Kessler in Quebec. Another poster mentioned negotiating power and I also think he was right on the money... even though Kessler praised Bute's body punching as a commentator in Bute-Magee, he'd love to regain his shape of old and give him a beating. Nobody, negotiation wise, cares for a fvckin Emeritus championship. That's right Bat, fvck off with the Emeritus BS. FFS, Martinez was so unhappy to be Emeritus champ seeing Junior getting the actual WBC belt, even fat azz Sulaiman had to say 'ok, Sergio' and put a Diamond belt in the mix. Where's all the diamonds for Mikkel?!???!?? Pfff. :D

We might have a lineal champ by 2013. :smoke

That was in a Danish paper. Sauerland themselves denied the purses were so high.

It's not twice what he would have had against Bute, it is less. 750K + an amount from Showtime + the Danis PPV would have made more than 1,4M$.

There won't be PPV against Stieglitz.

Kessler is worth $1.4 million any day of the week.
