You can use irony as you want, 750K + an amount from Showtime + Danish PPV would have given much more money than what he is getting to fight Stieglitz.

Sauerland looks stupid now to have said Interbox offer was ridiculous and people like you saying time after time Bute was lowballing Kessler should adopt a modest behaviour.

You were wrong but you won't admit it because I've never seen you admit whatsoever. I know you know youre wrong. It is enough for me.

Wow, a fight with Bute would have earned him much more..
But it would also be a much bigger risk...

Well, in the very very short run.. yes.

But let's be reasonable here... of course Kessler will want and will get much more for the next fight if he comes with a belt on top of being the one with the deepest resume in the division.

So over the course of only a few fights the Stieglitz fight may very well be the fight that makes the most financial and sports sense (if Kessler wins.. that is).

Maybe. Maybe not. Showtime wants Bute-super 6 winner. Adding a belt to the Emeritus status can give the necessary edge to bypass Bute. In Sauerland's eyes.

Who wants to see a Kess-Ward rematch? If Kessler beats Bute, yes. If not, he lost clearly enough the first time. It is another story if Froch wins.

I understand that but that has nothing to do with the lowballing accusations against Bute's team. The offer could have been not enough to justify a fight against a tough opponent in Montreal. Lowballing is a different kind of accusation though. It means you deliberately offer nothing to avoid a fight.

Now, the first Johnson offer was ridiculous.

    Perhaps.

I don't see why they would necessarily want the fight before Ward-Bute. Ward-Bute can happen in January... and then the winner-Kessler in April 12.

With Kessler still healing one eye.. I think he would be fine with getting a few more month to try to heal completely. And for that the Emeritus is all he needs I guess.

Kessler wants the rematch and Ward does as well.

It will be a completely different fight if staged outside jOakland and Kessler is injuryfree.

Well, Kessler said he wanted the first spot at the winner but I guess the action in the SMW is not over with the super 6 final. Kessler, Froch, Bute and Dirrell (he'll have to prove himself in a couple of comeback fights) still have business to make together.

Apparently Sauerland has been negotiating SES for 2 months BTW.

I don't see it like that (lowballing and all).

I think the offer was unattractive because it banked on Kessler not having anywhere to go... and he in reality has and had many options.

And it banked on being (mildly) attractive for Kessler looking only one fight ahead.

    ____________

In reality, Interbox needed to understand that team Kessler looks more than 1 fight ahead when calculating the finances, and that Kessler has and had many options. Bute was much more without many options.

    So too low.

I have never myself used the word low-balling.

to me the offer was far from attractive for Kessler.

Did Interbox make the offer because they wanted to avoid Kessler? No, I don't think so.. I think they made it assuming that Kessler had nowhere else to go for a belt, and based on what Interbox have paid other Bute opponents (and then added some for Kessler's name).

So I see it as inexperience from Interbox' side, but I think they wanted to make the fight. but I also understand that it could never happen given the realities and the terms they offered.

Stiglitz is selling his paper title to Kessler. Kessler is paying for home advantage, which will mean lots of Danish fans and lots of money. Kessler is the only real boxing star in Denmark.

Who deserves the first match-up with the Super 6 winner?

Bute if he gets passed Johnson
    or
Kessler if he gets passed Stieglitz?

    Kessler as WBC emeritus champion.

Let Bute fight the s6 runner-up. His path to the s6 winner would be to easy without some sort of qualifier.

If Ward wins the super 6, I doubt the fight will be out of USA.
